Not to be racist, but just looking at things factually leads me to this conclusion:

There are a large percentage of black Americans that are descended directly from slaves. Not all black Americans fall into this category, but many do. The slaves that made it over here were already survivors from tribal wars and whatnot. Furthermore, the weak would perish on the trip over or while on their slave duty. The physically best survived, and those genes have been passed on.

However, I wouldn't go so far as to say anyone benefited from slavery...that's just ridiculous.
