Former Baylor wide receiver Josh Gordon, who has declared for Thursday's supplemental draft, is scheduled to hold his pro day on Tuesday at the Houston Texans' training facility, according to a league source.

Multiple NFL teams are expected to attend, and the 6-foot-3, 225-pound Gordon is expected to be timed in the 40-yard dash in the 4.4s or better.

A source told ESPN.com's James Walker the Buffalo Bills will attend Gordon's workout.

One NFL scout said Gordon could go as high as the second round, and he is considered a rare talent as far as supplemental drafts go.

Gordon spent last season out of football after Baylor dismissed him from the team in August 2011. Gordon then transferred to Utah but had to leave the school for the supplemental draft for financial reasons.

The NFL supplemental draft is scheduled for Thursday, and former Utah and Baylor wide receiver Josh Gordon is generating significant buzz entering his workout at the Houston Texans' indoor practice facility Tuesday.

Josh Gordon gets tackled against Syracuse during his abbreviated stint with Baylor. (US Presswire)Gordon, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound receiver, never played for the Utes. He sat out last season as a transfer from Baylor. As a sophomore in 2010, he caught 42 passes for 714 yards and seven touchdowns.

Gordon is one of eight players confirmed eligible for Thursday's draft. Teams making selections submit bids to the league office and sacrifice the corresponding pick in the 2013 NFL draft.

Scouts are sure to be interested in hearing from Baylor coach Art Briles and Utah coach Kyle Willingham. Briles suspended Gordon after a marijuana arrest and the receiver was suspended indefinitely prior to the 2011 season, leading him to transfer to Utah. Willingham said the Utes did plenty of homework and felt Gordon deserved a second chance.

His on-field ability is NFL-caliber. NFLDraftScout.com calls Gordon "rough around the edges as a receiver. He is a long-striding runner with the build-up speed and fluidity to make plays after the catch. Gordon is raw as a route-runner and has only one true season of playing experience in college."

Gordon has the skill set to warrant consideration in the first four rounds.

a third or fourth though, if not just for his raw ability.

Too raw for my liking. I don't even think I'd waste a 3rd on him, considering he hasn't played for 2+ years.

4th or 5th

These players always look great until they're mediocre

If it gets rid of McCluster for good, then I'll trade the entire draft for him

Of all the supplemental draft candidates I can remember, I only ever wanted Jared Gaither and Paul Oliver. At the time I was surprised they went for a 4th and 5th respectively.

A 2nd? No way.

6th or 7th sure.

I'm with Detox.

I'd throw in a 7th, probably.

Personally, I agree with Direckshun and Detox that he is a later pick in the supp draft. 4th-7th rd grade with me being more likely to draft him in the later rounds in the supplemental draft. If he had a full year at Baylor last year, he probably could have had a 800yds+ season with 7+ tds. Probably would be 3rd rounder. 6'3/4 at 220ish and a 4.3 mid, 4.4 40 is great. Pretty fast with pads as well if you watch some tape. Has good hands, speed, but very rough as a route runner. If I was fairly sure we would not be able to resign Bowe in the 10mil/year range, I would definitely target him, as I feel we have a solid WR coach.

So long Copper!!!!

As a WR I'd rather have Copper.

Dex is just to short/small to be a NFL WR. See Dante Hall. One play here or there, but not consistent enough full-time.

I still live in a fantasy land where I actually think KC will one day use multiple draft picks to grab a franchise QB prospect. For that reason I wouldn't give up a 2nd.

McCluster is fine being on this roster as a RB/WR. Nothing wrong at all with carrying a player like that. The butthurt over him is ridiculous and he's outperformed several CP draft lovechild WR's that they wanted at that spot. But, but, but, but, but, but, but the rushing numbers don't count!!!

Copper as good as he is at it is fine being on the team as a special teams specialist.

I don't think the team will take a flier on this guy at all.

Josh Gordon visited Cleveland last Thursday and Friday. Cleveland liked what it saw. Looks like Browns only team to put in 2nd-round claim.

Just when you think Cleveland can't be any dumber, they go and do something like that.

Factory of Sadness.

They just gave up a Top 40 pick for this kid.

That noise you just heard from the Northeast was a collective sigh from Browns fans.

I went to a Browns board and a lot of them were happy. Go figure.

Needed help for their 28-year-old rookie.

I can't believe that any organization would be that stupid to try to build around an unproven player who is that old. Insane.

Let's see what his #'s are at the end of the season as a true WR. Not out of the backfield, I'm fine with that. I think it's stupid for them to line him up anywhere else on the field intended as a receiver.

Had they been willing to trade this R2 pick to the Rams, they'd likely have RGIII.
