Poe's slot has been set for about a month now. Any word in KC on what the hold up is?

He needs every second of development he can get.

Think from what I have heard the teams are trying to get some wording put into contracts that if they cut a player and that player signs with another team they can get some of the guaranteed money back.

From my understanding it isn't about the money. It is about the guaranteed money if the player is released and then signed by another team. The teams are wanting to be able to get some of that guaranteed money back. I don't think the teams invisioned that all of these contracts were basicly going to be all guarnateed dollars.

If you are that worried about cutting your first round draft pick, maybe don't draft him?

Is that an indication of how much faith Pioli has in his 1st round pick?

Yeah I understand that but I think we all understand that drafting any player is risky so they are just trying to protect their investment if it all has to be guaranteed.

let's be honest ... Poe has gotten insurance or whatever and is showing up for every workout. Why should the Chiefs sign him early when they aren't losing anything by him not signing.

They also might gain something by waiting.

If he gets injured? If he gives in on the language of the contract?

everything to gain and nothing to lose

I imagine he'll sign the day the team leaves for training camp.

"Correlation does not imply causation" is a phrase used in science (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science) and statistics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statistics) to emphasize that a correlation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Correlation) between two variables does not automatically imply that one causes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Causality) the other (though correlation is necessary for linear causation in the absence of any third and countervailing causative variable, it can indicate possible causes or areas for further investigation; in other words, correlation is a hint).[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Correlation_does_not_imply_causation#cite_note-Tufte_2006_5-0)[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Correlation_does_not_imply_causation#cite_note-1)
The opposite belief, correlation proves causation, is a logical fallacy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logical_fallacy) by which two events that occur together are claimed to have a cause-and-effect relationship. The fallacy is also known as cum hoc ergo propter hoc (Latin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin) for "with this, therefore because of this") and false cause. It is a common fallacy in which it is assumed that, because two things or events occur together, one must be the cause of the other. By contrast, the fallacy, post hoc ergo propter hoc (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_hoc_ergo_propter_hoc), requires that one event occur after the other, and so may be considered a related fallacy.

He's slotted already to make around 11 million. I wonder how much of it is just a ploy by his agent to get his name out there a little more by waiting till the last minute. unless they may be possibly talking about a 5 year contract instead of 4.
