Hello, (again) Chad Johnson.

Sorry if Q.

Ochocinco no more: Chad Johnson changes his name back

By MJD | Shutdown Corner – 21 hours ago

Today, we can officially bid farewell to the Ochocinco era. Not wanting to inflict the Ochocinco name on his new bride, Chad Ochocinco legally became Chad Johnson again on Monday morning.

The change was made official at a hearing at the Broward County courthouse in Florida. Here's the report from the Ochocinco News Network, on the topic it is most qualified to discuss:

Chad Ochocinco has officially changed his name back to Chad Johnson. The main reason behind the name change was due to his marriage to Evelyn Lozada. The couple preferred Evelyn's last name to be a real name and not the fun "Ochocinco" character we have come to love.

The Ochocinco era was good to Chad. He sold a lot of jerseys, got a lot of attention, did some good things and made a lot of money. I'm guessing that the $401 that it cost him to undo the name change was well worth it.

Of course, there are ancillary procedural concerns, as was pointed out by George Atallah, the Assistant Executive Director of External Affairs for the NFLPA:

True, his on-field production did tank as Ochocinco, but I'm pretty sure that would've happened no matter what was on the back of his jersey. And he gets a fresh start now in Miami, in an offense where he'll fit better and with a jersey that won't be as silly.

Bye bye, Ochocinco. You've been good to us.

I was really hoping it would last long enough for him to sign with a team that would give him some other number. Drat.

Sandbox Simulations does not approve. Not only do we have to deal with the name change, but now we have to keep track of two C. Johnsons that play WR.
