Use NMVTIS. It is better than CARFAX (which isn't hard since CARFAX is borderline useless). This provider charges $2.99

There are lots of NMVTIS report providers. It is a national database that is fairly new and required by federal law. It isn't perfect either, but it is better than carfax.
