All that weaponry and the new HC and OC didn't do shit in the most important preseason game. I'm a bit worried now.

We have attempted to showcase Cassel's talents the past two weeks. The results were not good. Ass beatings by Rams and Seahawks when the varsity was on the field. Probably even some JV players as Cassel went deep into the 3rd Friday.

It depends... I dont see mccluster lasting all year with how heavily involved i think he'll have to be for Cassel to be sucessful. Can Wylie learn the playbook in time?

Here is my prediction,

Casshole will play like shit and get benched during the year.

Chiefs will make a trade soon and get Matt Moore. Moore and Quinn will slug it out for the backup job and Stanzi will still be on the Chiefs roster.

So, Casshole #1
Moore #2
Quinn #3
Stanzi #4

So Moore will come in after Chiefs bench Casshole and Moore will play well. Chiefs will start winning games and he will be the unsung hero and everybody will be praising Matt Moore for saving the Chiefs season and helping them get into the playoffs and helping them finally win a playoff game.

Matt Moore will be the hidden gem. He's the new Rich Gannon of this era. Long love Matt Moore.

If you can't get the ball to those weapons in a timely wanner and accurately, it doesn't matter.

You can wish and hope all you want. But just watching this guy you can tell how hard things come for him. It's not natural. Watch other NFL QB's/offenses and they just go down the field making it look so smoothly. Matt still looks lost.

Matt and Scott are both going down in flames this season, sub .500 out the door together.

Oh I forgot to mention everybody will be praising Moore except CP because people will complain that Matt Moore wasn't a first round pick and that the Chiefs didn't draft a QB in the first.

Highly improbable. More than likely Cassel has a season approximating his 2010 "pro bowl" year. A fair number of us will still hate him. Pioli's response is about the only variable.

I remember a year when the Chiefs kept 4 QBs. They were Len Dawson, Jacky Lee, Mike Livingston, and John Huarte.

(sigh) Those were good times. That was the 1969 season.

I just hope after this season Pioli can swallow his pride and admit what all the fans already know. Casshole made a lot of $$$ and has a superbowl ring, and he shouldn't even be in the NFL. This Matt Casshole experiment is the craziest thing I have ever seen.

I've been calling it to. he's on the verge of a career season and will solidify his future in KC. It's not like I even like the guy. it's just that he will finally have the weapons and the o-line. He's not nearly as bad as people make him out to be. He's just frusterating at times.

He is 30. He wont suddenly become a franchise QB.

The worst thing that could happen would be Cassel having a so-so, 2009 like season or above, because he'd get a contract extension.

He's had two good years and two bad years. This is the best offense he's ever had. He gets to change the plays and he looks more loose than ever. He's going to have a career year.

All those weapons being used only 3 yards beyond the line of scrimmage:doh!:

you are right, he has done nothing and I believe he and Pioli have run out of excuses...I am looking forward to them getting their pink slips

This is going to be a long, long season.

Par for the course. :(

I so long for the days of Dawson, Bell, Lanier, and Taylor when the Chiefs were one of the giants of the NFL. When we lost a game it was usually considered an upset.

You can have all the weapons in the world, when you stare down your first option and then check down what is the value in the weapons? Even in 2010, if you watched him that year and thought he was/is capable of bringing this team anywhere near the SB then I am not sure what you are watching.

There is no question Cassel finds a way to do stupid crap to make his legend stronger. That being said, his actual football play has shown enough. Hell, Trent was going on during the game about how Daboll and them want him to be patient and check it down. There will be little use of his weapons relative to how a normal QB would use them.

I am sick of Kasl. I need a starting QB. I need a guy who is going to take this team, slap it on his back, and run them into the SB.

I need a hero.

Cassel's breakout year was back in high school when college recruiters thought he had a future at QB.

Disagree. In both talent and design, the 2008 Patriots Offense was superior to the offense he has now.

The goal this year is to win a playoff game. If we do that, we are far better than we have been in a very long time. We got no where with Haley and now he is gone. Give Romeo a chance. This team will be good.

Start there.

Then we start dreaming about winning the division...
