Weak defensive line, who do we have in the middle? Questionable second and third corners. Matt cassel will be under center and we have Thomas Jones 2.0 (Hillis) We should be around 6-10.

We're going to be 1-5 at the bye week. CP will be in full meltdown mode. If we had a real QB, we'd win the division without question. Cassel is gonna prevent us from reaching the playoffs.

Also, I'm not sure why you quoted me.
I was merely stating if they lose 10, Pioli and company should be gone.

It's amazing how ppl let preseason games influence their opinion. The Chiefs are a running team. They aren't going to run Charles and Hillis into the ground or show a wide array of their packages in the preseason. What you see now, is nothing like what the Chiefs will be in the season. To think the Chiefs will go 6-10 is just foolish. It's possible, but the smart money would be at least 9-7. This is not a bad team. I could easily see this team going 12-4 if it had schedules some of the league has.

I don't think it's 'buying into preseason bullshit' as much as seeing the same old Cassel on the field and seeing a bunch of franchise QBs on the schedule. It's one thing to see Tom Brady or Drew Brees dink and dunk down the field in the preseason, miss or completely ignore receivers, then say it's just the preseason playbook, they'll be ready... and it's another to see Matt Cassel do it, since he's been doing it here for 3 years in the regular season, too.
They could certainly be better than 2010, but it doesn't mean they'll win 11+ games with this year's schedule. No one is due anything in the NFL, but it would be pretty awesome if they could actually start 4-0, beat Brees, Manning twice, and be a home game vs Oakland away from being undefeated in the division.

No one is due anything in the NFL, but it would be pretty awesome if they could actually start 4-0, beat Brees, Manning twice, and be a home game vs Oakland away from being undefeated in the division.
We are due for some luck because we haven't done jack in so long. We haven't been dealt a good hand in a long time. We are due for the intangibles. It's the way the Saints and the Packers defenses played when they won Superbowls. We are coming off a season of massive injury where we still almost won the divison. This is clearly the best roster we have had since 1995. This is the best coach we have had since Vermeil.
I understand most here are watching the preseason at face value. There is a huge difference from this year to last year. We aren't killing ourselves. The coaches are killing the players and they are doing it on purpose. We will be prepared for adversity. We weren't trying to stop Jackson the other night. We weren't really blitzing. We weren't trying to run. We weren't playing man.
As for Cassel, he's getting better at making plays when they count. What I saw last week was the most improvement I have seen since he's been here. I am looking for specific things and I saw them. Mainly, he made the big play when we had to have it. He's playing loose.

Teams are never what people think. The strength of schedule is never the same at the end of the year. The whole thing is based on calculated guesses and part of that is the "long over due" argument. I'm not just looking at who is good now. I am looking at who is due for bad luck (injuries) and who can overcome it for example.

Take it FWIW.....but this is the guy saying that Preseason Week 1 against the Cardinals was our actual game.....we were just ****ing around the last two weeks because we didn't want to give away our schemes.

I don't think it's 'buying into preseason bullshit' as much as seeing the same old Cassel on the field and seeing a bunch of franchise QBs on the schedule.
yep thats how i see it.
same ole Cassel 3 yard passes all game, not matter what the score is, what defenses are gonna fear that?

It is this time. They whipped our ass in the home opener last year. Stevie Johnson cheap shotted Berry. Tamba is coming off of suspension and will want to have a big game. They have a rookie LT who should not be playing LT.

No they wouldn't really be, I saw Matt Cassel last year win against the Colts, Vikings (2 of the worst teams in the league) Raiders with kyle boller, and a fluke fumble by Philip Rivers at home against San Diego. That could only happen to a coach like Norv Turner.

At New Orleans- Loss, not even close. Brees lights up Routt.
Vs San diego- Win, Charles rushes for 200 yards.
Vs Baltimore- Win, The Chiefs get a little pay back finally, and Killer is over the hill and swears he is being triple teamed.
At TB- Win, it would be nice to trade QBs, but the Chiefs are more talented across the board.
Vs Oak- Win, Chiefs win on last second Colquitt FG.
At SD- Win, Rivers figures out how to pull defeat from the hands of victory once again. Norv is fired after the game, to all the opposing fans dismay.
At Pitt- Loss, Haley takes personal revenge, much like Gailey did last year and has the offense fired up.
Vs Cincy- Win, well it is Cincy and Cassel has his best game of the year.
Vs Denver- Win, Denver has been folding since Manning retired after the week 3 injury against the 9ers.
Vs Carolina- Win, a cake walk, Cassel has his second game with a rating above 70
At Cleveland- Win, cake is good. Cassel has a 90+ QB rating for the first time of the season.
At Oakland- Win, Carson out plays Cassel, but so has almost everyone else.

This is reasonable except one thing -- you have them going 2 - 6 and with another loss during game 9, me thinks Romeo will pull the Matt Cassel plug after that game because at 2 - 7 the team is all but guaranteed no post season appearance.
The new guy will bring a bit of hope to the team, they could win a few more than expected. Especially if Crennel pulls the plug on Cassel a bit earlier.

My prediction was made before the preseason even started. My post here is just a repost. Quite a few of us felt the same.

Cam Newton played in the SEC with a bunch of stadiums bigger than Arrowhead. Plus, Arrowhead has lost some of its mystique, and I love Arrowhead as much as anybody (STH since '93). I just think Newton will be a tough match-up for us.

The Chiefs have the talent to make a run at the Super Bowl in Romeo Crennel’s first season, but Matt Cassel will have to be on his game to pull it off.
Prediction: 11-5, first in AFC West
Daniel Jeremiah
Welcome back, Jamaal Charles and Eric Berry. Coming off injury-marred seasons, the running back and safety should provide some much-needed explosiveness on each side of the football.
Prediction: 8-8, second in AFC West
Adam Schein
Jamaal Charles, Matt Cassel, Eric Berry, and Tony Moeaki are healthy. Romeo Crennel reduces the drama Todd Haley created. The passing attack can be explosive.
Prediction: 10-6, first in AFC West

The Chiefs are stacked on both sides of the ball. Matt Cassel wants to be mentioned with the other QBs in this division - and he delivers.
Prediction: 11-5, first in AFC West

I find it especially interesting that the 4 teams NFL.com chose to use as the premier teams from each conference included a Chiefs Arrowhead.
I think the key here is to not read too much into the preseason. It's nothing like last year. I still think we lose in the AFC Championship to Baltimore. We will get them the first time but not the second.

It's frightening how many people still had faith in Gus Cassel.
Now it's happening with Smith all over again.

Same as always. Not bad enough to get any elite talent in the draft, not good enough to go anywhere.
LMAO We had the #1 overall pick in the draft and this was still true.
