It's a lost art. Hopefully someone will pass the torch to someone young enough to bring it main stream again.

Sax and Piano was an 80's sound. Then in the 90's Kenny G. killed all reed instruments in music for the forseeable future.

Yeah they were a good band. Check out some Fishbone if you've never heard them. Try the Truth and Soul or Reality of My Surroundings albums. Fishbone is ska, punk, funk music and they are all really good musicians. However, that stuff is late 80's early 90's...

Another good punk/ska band is Less than Jake if you like that stuff.

Rock and roll bagpipes is a lost art as well. It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock n roll.

Rock and roll flute has also seemed to have disappeared. Just ask Cross-eyed Mary.

An old man music still rules because it takes big talent to do it in rock.:thumb:

Billy Joel rules this arena in reference to the piano and sax in rock.;)

The great thing about Springsteen's music is how they use all sorts of cool instruments. If you haven't heard the accordion in Fourth of July/Sandy or that big organ hit in Jungleland or the harmonica in Thunder Road, you haven't heard rock and roll.

I hope someone popularizes the bassoon for rock. I miss piano and sax too
