what is it with Powe? Last preseason he impressed, never played. This preseason he impressed, probably will get more PT, but should start. The coaches must not trust him, I wonder what it is? He seems dumb as rocks when he speaks, maybe that's it. Maybe he doesn't go 100% all of the time or gets dominated in practice.

I don't know, I wish I did.

Dammit - I was hoping Flowers would be able to go, but maybe this is for the best. I'd rather he sit out this week and be healthy once we get to some games that we'll be a little more favored in.

I think Elam will be good depth for us at safety. But Flowers is irreplaceable. Jalil Brown covering Roddy White or Julio Jones with no Tamba to pressure the QB? Hopefully Houston can really step it up and shine, if we can't get any pressure on Matt Ryan we are looking at a blowout here. Somebody else has to step it up big time, it's not going to be Jalil Brown. Berry, DJ, Routt and Houston HAVE to play lights out if we can even stand a chance.

JFC this is gonna suck

Seems to me that Justin Houston is gonna need to go absolutely fucking apeshit to keep Ryan & Co. from torching this secondary.

they better be playing Travis Daniels or Eric Berry at CB there is no way Jalil Brown is going to be able to cover any WR on the Falcons.

Mystery. From all accounts, he's got a really good work ethic, relishes playing the true NT position and has shown that he's capable of it. He was the only NT that was effectively filling the gaps this preseason and showed that he had burst if it was required.

At least from my eyes, it seemed that Poe had a longer road to travel in terms of being effective as a NT, i.e., holding the gaps, working off a single team, etc.

I don't know what the deal is either.

Not going to be pretty for sure. No pass rush, no CB coverage, YIKES ! Granted we are a run first team, but today even moreso in order to keep the Falcons offense on the sideline as much a possible. Falcons are a run first team as well BUT NOT TODAY !!

Falcons players score big fantasy points today:deevee:

The Falcons, with Michael Turner aging, and White and Jones on the outside, are transitioning to a passing team.

Today will not be an anomally.

The year they came in ranked no 1 vs the run we set records running the ball.

Our offensive line needs to step up for our running game and our front 7 has to step up and protect our injured secondary...

I also noted Powe's play during pre season after Toribio was hurt.

I imagine Powe is not doing what he's being coached to do. That is usually why coaches will sit a player that is otherwise showing talent.

I'm really hoping to see Cam Sheffield light it up from the ROLB position today. I know Studi's starting, but I really like Sheffield as Hali's BU and perhaps a guy that can become as good as Tamba.
