Battle with more TD's than Charles

I always liked the way Battle ran. I took mucho crap for that view, but it was the way I saw things.

However, Charles' lack of production has little or nothing to do with Charles. When it comes to game-planning, defensive coordinators probably see us as the easiest team in the league to prepare for. Just put 8 guys in the box and keep everything in front of you in the secondary. Just like it used to be in the Herm years, really.

It looked like J Charles pulled a little limp on one run. Then he looked like he had no burst on the run to the left.

1. Hard to establish the running game when you are down 14-0 before you convert your first third down.

2. Hard to run the ball much when you have a limp dick qb who can't make plays downfield.

3. Hard for Charles to make much of an impact when the offense is concerned with making a certain midget 2nd round pick look justified.

I'm not worried about whether or not Charles scores a TD. It's a team game. We have scored two rushing TDs this year. In 2009, we went half a season without scoring a rushing TD with Haley. The guy didn't know how to run the ball. It could be much much worse.

On at least one, and I think two of Charles carries he had a linemen in his lap the moment he took the handoff.

Now, I don't generally blame blocking for poor RB performance, but you can't have guys 4 yards in the backfield before the QB/RB exchange.
