So there are really less than a dozen flights in all of Africa right now?

That's cool.

In a strange way, it's a visual reminder for people like me who are afraid of flying just how incredibly safe it is when you think about the number of planes that take off and arrive at their destination safely.

That is flippin' amazing. I'm looking down at western Mauritania now, from Air France flight 718. It's incredible.

You are at great risk with dying driving to work than you do flying...

I know. It's completely irrational. It's the heights thing for me. Still working on controlling it but slowly getting better.

Deep down in our brains, we know that hurtling through the air at 800 mph is not a natural thing. Further on the surface, we know that our cars are not being driven by an invisible stranger, and even if we wreck it, we'll probably survive.

That's a lot for statistics to overcome.

The site is really cool. I'm not getting the cockpit views, though. When I click the button, nothing happens. Any hints?

I have come to believe that there is an artificial intelligence entity residing on the ChiefsPlanet server. When I hit that one button deal that makes your posts appear, there was a lengthy pause, then "boom!" it duplicated itself.

Of course, Mr. BlechBob represents the argument against such an entity.

Do you have to register a flight plan or check in with a tower? I have a hard time believing that when dad takes his home built up with no electronics, they can track him and put him on the map.
