RINGLEADER
09-30-2012, 02:51 PM
Very unlikely we'll get a fresh start... Expect an extension of Pioli before the end of the year. After a 2-14 season expect Pioli to promise new competition for QB from a six round QB and some scrub who will be brought on to basically ensure Cassel is the QB again.

I hope the Kansas City faithful boo Cassel without mercy next week and I hope he throws another three INTs so Romeo can further underscore his incompetence by citing BS stats as the reason why Cassel is a "good QB".

As I said in the game thread -- I'm done investing any emotions in this team until Cassel is no longer the starting QB. Just not going to do it anymore.

You're missing the bigger point. The guy just doesn't the brains to build a championship franchise. He doubled down on Cassel. If he can't see when to cut losses on a decision so obvious, there is absolutely zero hope that he has the football acumen and humility to make enough good decisions to build an NFL roster.

Berry is a goddamned monster in waiting, and don't you think for a second that this defense won't come to life and start destroying souls once the offense and team has a true leader.

so you are saying we need to hire a Harbaugh? is there even a third Harbaugh brother to hire and save us?

We obviously need to hire some real coaching all the way around. I believe that for the most part, the talent is there once the QB position is fully addressed.

Piolis not going anywhere, Hes no going to admit another mistake with a head coach and shitcan Romeo. He is NEVER going to draft a high round QB.

The only hope we have is he finally cuts ties wih Cassel, but then we end up with a Matt Moore and a 5th rounder

It also explains why they said to the media they would be interviewing OC candidates from playoff teams and then didn't interview a single playoff teams coach for that spot and then said after they hired Daboll they were waiting for him the whole time.

He's in way over his head.

Three games last year beg to differ...and they were against decent teams and he didn't have Charles.

2 of the three teams he faced were playoff teams...and he beat both of them...the only game he lost was because of two blocked field goals...something that would be considered a fluke because that literally never happens.

I think this team would be 3-1 or at least 2-2 even with a mediocre quarterback like Orton.

The Saints and Chargers were begging to get beat down.

Nobody gives a shit about last year.

There were several million reasons to do it.

Sure, but you're already wealthy. If you're taking a HC job that forces you to start a QB you don't believe in, for money, you don't and probably never did have integrity. If what you're suggesting is true, then Crennel never cared about winning.

Romeo's three games last year were fool's gold.

Tebow?

Rusty Palmer?

Keep holding onto the statistical green bay outlier as an indicator of anything other than the sun shining on canine ass.

I don't care who the coach is. If he has a good quarterback, he is gonna be looked at as a football god...if he doesn't, he is crap.

Romeo is no different that the rest.

He's old and he knows better than anyone else that he's a fraud. It was about getting paid one more time.

What image? LMAO

He was a shit HC before. He has nothing to lose.

He'll still retire as one of the most respected defensive minds of the modern era.

Romeo doesn't give a fuck.

I dont know how much of a raise he got, but he was probably just thinking of getting more money before he heads off to retirement

Can't believe it.

Sure, for an assistant that figured to never get a shot maybe, but Romeo doesn't need the job or the money, and to take it knowing your handcuffed to a QB you don't want?

We'll see, but I think Cassel doesn't make it to the bye week as the starter.

Integrity's got nothing to do with it. You either have the juice to tell a GM who you want as your QB or you don't. Romeo didn't, most coaches wouldn't. So of course you take the job.

What I'm saying is, no GM tells the coach who to start. Using Bill Parcells' analogy, GMs shop for the groceries, but don't cook the meal. What I do think happened is Pioli didn't tell Crennel to start Cassel, but he just made sure there was no one else viable to turn to.

Most GMs do not.

It's been pretty clear that this is no ordinary GM. Gretz said Haley was micromanaged. IN the offseason, Pioli (not Crennel) was the one that announced that Brady Quinn was the backup.

There's no way Romeo was doing anything but kissing butt to get the HC gig.

Why would he do anything else.

Did people think he had some grand vision in his head to win a SB? LMAO

Any chance Pioli will be doing any radio interviews anytime soon?

I'd love to hear the excuses he'd make for Matty.

I would pay money to watch him do an interview with Jack Harry.

He was the first one to drill Pioli about Cassel and I'd love to watch a follow up.

He asked him if he was married to Cassel prior to the 12 draft and I'd live for him to have a chance to ask more tough questions as a follow up.

I bet Romeo was willing to take on any kind of yoke just to earn a nice big paycheck as a HC again.

He's sixty-fucking-five, what the fuck does he care who the QB is?

Just another reason it was a horrible hire and I was against it from the beginning.

This.

As much as I hate Douche Stoops, and as much as I sense the Martyness upon him come playoff time, he would still be a better HC than RAC.

I'm fine with RAC standing by Cassell and keeping him as the starting QB.....if he calls a quarterback draw 15 consecutive times to start the game against the Ravens.
