I now make $15.50 an hour. After several years, I finally got a raise. Better late than never right? I can now engrave plaques with a smile on my face for once. :thumb:

I've never thought about this, but I should give myself a massive raise and then take it back ten minutes later. That way, if I'm ever asked about salary I can list a ludicrously high number.

I got a raise last week because someone started a rumor I was taking a job elsewhere and told my boss. Thanks unknown person, you got me a 5 figure raise!

what do you do sir?

I work at an awards store and design plaques/awards and engrave them either with a laser engraver or a rotary engraver. We also sublimate a lot of stuff. Most of what I do is engrave acrylic and glass awards. I've been doin it for almost 12 years.

My supervisor has my review ready. Just waiting on his boss to return from vacation and sign off on it. He mentioned the words "merit increase" so I take it that I actually have one coming. Hopefully by Tuesday of next week, I'll know what to expect.

I just accepted another job with a $5/hour pay raise and I start in two weeks!

He probably saw the thread about the banner and decided to give you a raise based on the fact that you might fly one over his shop.

If nothing else, the thread is a good sign for our economy. We have to be in a solid place as a society if we have the ability to spend money on banners asking to fire general managers, getting a raise at work for browsing CP and then spend time making posts about it.

I was told all raises happen once a year in February, and I didn't have a year in on the last one. But yesterday my manager told me I'm getting it on the next check since that's one year as full time.

I haven't been sleeping much lately - I'll be glad when it's announced one way or the other.

Yeah lol. Usually when I'm posting here while at work it's while I have the machines running for a while. It's a pretty laid back place to work as long as all the work gets done and there are no problems.

Heh, I was thinking of you yesterday when I was going through all the bullshit of shipping a centrifugal pump to England via FedEx. You talk about a MF in the paperwork department! I was dinking around with that for two days, and I'm still not sure everything was right. Hopefully it doesn't get held up in customs. :doh!:

It ain't us bro, they are so picky about the paperwork to prevent your shipment being delayed is the reason it has to be so thorough, I don't work on that side of FDX, I am a linehaul driver for the freight side, I don't deal with people or actually see the freight, I basically just get in the truck and go about 300 miles, meet a driver who has freight going back to my home domicile, he takes his freight from me, I take my freight from him and then we go back to where we started and then repeat the next day.
