Twin Peaks — part restaurant, part man-cave — coming to Olathe

By JOYCE SMITH

The Kansas City Star

Twin Peaks restaurant – described as the ultimate man-cave sports lodge – is coming to the metro.

The first area location is set to open at 14805 W. 119th St., Olathe, in January. My Big Fat Greek Restaurant recently closed in the 6,600-square-foot space and it will be completely remodeled for the new tenant.
Twin Peaks have a “rugged mountain lodge” design with made-from-scratch comfort food, 29 draft beers on tap, numerous high-definition TVs for sports events, and the Twin Peaks Girls - women servers who wear a skin-baring tie-top made from red and black lumberjack plaid and very short khaki shorts.

The Olathe restaurant will have about 70 employees.

The chain, which is based in a Dallas suburb, has more than 25 locations in a dozen states and five more set to open by the end of the year. It has signed a multi-unit development deal with the new KC Lodge Ventures, which will open three restaurants in Kansas and Missouri with an option for a fourth.

Menu items will include chicken fried steak or chicken, grilled trout, ribeye pot roast, spicy chipotle chicken, green chili meatloaf and blackened fish tacos.

The partners in the area franchise are Patrick Khoury, his father Paul Khoury, and Tom Peterson. Paul Khoury is co-founder of PB&J Restaurants, which now owns several YaYa’s Euro Bistro operations, Burnt End BBQ and Newport Grill.

Patrick Khoury pitched the concept to his father by taking him to the Twin Peaks in Wichita.

“It’s a little bit of a change for us. But I told him he had to come down and see it, that Kansas City doesn’t have anything like this,” said Patrick Khoury, managing partner of KC Lodge Ventures. “But the food is great, atmosphere great – the Colorado lodge feel- and it has the coldest beer you have ever had.”

I love it. Let me start by saying the one here in Omaha has some serious talent working there. The shocker for me was the food is really good and a decent price.

Kansas City doesn’t have anything like this

Uh...Hooters...Fuel?

edit:

I'd much rather go to a David Lynch style restaurant. He opened a bar in Paris that looks pretty boss.
