All the Chiefs had to do is 1 play action deep they would have won. Duhball didn't even have the confidence in Cassel to try it.

It's true.

I noticed several times where Cassel audibled out of a pass formation (at least one was a shotgun that required re-setting by the flanker back) in long-yardage situations. Usually resulting in a draw or run up the middle, or busted-ass, off-tackle play that lost ground.

Confidence shot. Teammates disgusted. Dive eminent.

There was even that one play action play where Cassel was able to run for like twenty yards because they didn't expect him to still have the ball. Unbelievable.

Behind the Bench segment for the second half, at the 2:40 mark, Raven's cornerback Cary Williams recounts asking Chiefs wide receivers why we weren't passing the ball. "...Especially in pass situations, they ran the ball. I really didn't believe. I asked the wide receivers, 'Why you ain't pass the ball?'"

They know why we weren't passing the ball. Fucking embarrassing.

I've seen the hit from three angles now. None of them are as substantial as I'd like, but it seems like this was a relatively soft, every-game type of hit. Far be it from me to accuse him from faking, but I'm having a hard time seeing where the concussion actually happened.

- He landed on his ass
- Oh yeah...it wasn't even a hard hit.

If he was going to take a dive, he would do it during a game where he performed well, not a game where he was pure shit.

Because then, Pioli (the evil genius you guys make him out to be) could be like "See, he is a good QB, but he got unlucky and got injured".

It makes perfect sense that the Ravens noticed as well.

On the two picks: Both times Cassel stared Bowe down all the way, didn't look anybody off. Bowe didn't help anything by having the ball go off his hands. The second pick was especially bad, because the Chiefs burned a time out in the 2nd half to set that play up. Burn a time out, come out of the time out, throw a pick.

We could have really used that time out at the end of the game when Baltimore was running clock on us.

Here are some interesting things to consider:

Cassel is Pioli's golden boy.

Pioli knew he was going to have to pull him eventually this game.

Pioli probably was protecting the pussy from the enormous round of applause and embarrassment of being pulled out of the game. If he had been pulled, there would have truly been 70K people cheering their ****ing asses off. This way he only got a handful.

Winston made the phantom block that got Cassel injured and conveniently created a false media hoopla to defer the attention.

This is the first time I have seen any angle of the hit in 4 days, do you know how many god damn cameras are at a NFL football game, guess where most are focused on any offensive play. Doesn't that seem the least bit strange?

Has anyone heard anything so far this week about Cassel's condition or diagnosis?

Cassel was swept off the field by Pioli's CIA henchmen almost immediately after.

The final point... HE SUPPOSEDLY GOT A CONCUSSION AND IT APPEARS FROM THIS ANGLE THAT NOT A SINGLE GOD DAMN THING TOUCHED HIS HELMET!!!

Remember, Pioli is a piece of shit who had zero problems with spygate and likely was a knowing participant. You seriously think the above is insane given his ridiculous affinity for Captian shit-his-pants?

They came out with a statement way too long after claiming "fracture".
Excuse me while I channel Steve Deberg.

Typically Matt Cassel has been a tough little prick. He wanted to play a week after this apendectamy (sp?) ffs.

Personally I think they conspired the "hand Injury" and now they are doing the same thing with a "concussion".

I could be wrong. But anyone who would keep Matt Cassel as their QB after 3 years of suck, and continue to show us he is a terrible judge at talent evaluation... it wouldn't surprise me at all to pull this off.

Christ, I've had a concussion a few times and I didn't spend 3 days doing "tests" to figure it out.

"I was a little banged up, so that's what kept me out," Cassel said, adding that he thought he'd be OK to play at New England next Monday night. "I wanted to go but I was told not to."

This was Matt's comment after his hand injury. If he had surgery on it... then I am wrong and accept crow.

Quinn's career has been stop-start from the beginning. The year you're referencing, Jerome Harrison and Jamal Lewis were his RBs and Chancey Stuckey and Massaquoi were his top two receiver targets. He's never had anything even remotely close to the talent KC has now.

He has a big arm. He isn't always accurate and he's going to make some stupid mistakes. But he's going to go through his progressions, he'll throw the ball with some zip, and he's going to throw a lot more on-target passes than Cassel ever did. He's not even close to the answer, but that's a huge improvement over Cassel whose offense revolved around looking at Bowe, then checking down.

He gets a whiplash effect from the Ngata hit, causing his head to accelerate toward Kruger then his head attempts to occupy the same space as Krugers helmet, the result is rapid deceleration, and a rebound effect as Cassel's head is forced back the other way. They're just praying for a miracle. Most of us know he's shit.

A three game stretch, including one very shitty game, does not indicate crap.

Kyle Orton AVERAGED 300 yards a game for an 11-game stretch one season in his career.

He's an average/above average QB on a good day.

Brady Quinn is ****ing horrible and one of the worst first round busts EVER.

They are not remotely comparable.

I can find a couple of good games that Matt Cassel played, doesn't mean you can compare him to Orton, either.

Are you talking about the same Kyle Orton who, using your 161 yard standard, threw for 161+ yards in only 2 of his first 16 games?

And then went to a different team and was basically a 4,000 yard passer?

Quinn lights it up this week. Put it in the bank.
that's the big concern with him

Quinn can look like stud a carry us to a win one week and then be worse than cassel the next

you keep thinking he might be the answer for a sec and then in the 2nd half it looks like a different player wearing his uniform

if he plays the rest of the season we will win several meanlingless games at the end ... especially after the pressure is off.

That's different, Kyle Orton was a 4th round pick. He wasn't supposed to play that year.

Did anyone mention part 2 of video where Raven player asks our receivers "why are we running the ball in pass situation?"

and our receivers told him "coaches want us to"

What time during the video?

One would think listening to the comments of these players and coaches would be very embarrassing to the organization.

They knew the team doesn't have anything with Cassel, they said it out loud. They heckled our WR's about it.....they laughed about it.

Keep playing for the Almost-Tie, Romeo.

That's different, Kyle Orton was a 4th round pick. He wasn't supposed to play that year.

And Brady Quinn was a QB who was splitting first half reps with Derek Anderson. He didn't know he was supposed to play that year either, and for half of the season, Mangini took it away from him.

In either event, Orton went from being a guy struggling to hit 200 yards for several seasons with the Bears to a yardage machine in Denver. He was a totally different QB. Quinn's situation in KC is 1,000 times better than it was in KC.

Orton was young.

He was on an upward swing by the time he left Chicago and continued that pace in Denver.

Brady Quinn has NEVER shown improvement. In his last start he threw for 66 goddamn yards.

How many starts did Orton get? Situations were the same I guess

This is totally ridiculous.

He has never shown improvement because he has never been given a second opportunity. That 66 yard pass was at the end of his first full starting season as a young QB and was only his 14th start. And this was with a team with a worse starting cast than the Chiefs have EVER seen in 15 years. And by the way, the Browns scored 41 points that day and won. You're not going to throw for a lot of yards when your kick returner takes 2 to the house and your RB runs for 289 yards.

I'm not excited that he's our best option. But it's totally ridiculous to act like his young, inexperienced start with a horrendous Browns offensive supporting cast is somehow the bar we set for Brady Quinn.

That's the first I've seen Cassel hit from behind.

He DID NOT hit the back of his head on the turf like some mentioned.

Yes, I know he still could have sustained a concussion.

He looked emotionally demoralized throughout the entire game, with the fanbase completely against him, I will be stunned if he's back again next year.

Prepare to be stunned. Just a feeling.

You would think coaches around the league watch this to see what other teams have to say about their players/schemes etc.

Meanwhile Pioli is wearing rose colored glasses.

Hey, would you rather watch a blowout loss or a competitive one?/ RAC

No, but he bangs his he'd against another ravens players helmet. Remember this clip is in slow mo. If you listen to the audio, you can hear cassels helmet pop.

Sad how other teams look at Cassel as a horrible QB....like we all do.

Yet he's championed here as the starter by our blind foolish coaching staff and front office.

They even go as far as game planning around his suckitude by NOT THROWING THE DAMN BALL, and expect us to compete like that and expect to win. You're not going to win in the NFL with gameplans like last Sunday.

Yet they keep trotting Cassel back out there, thinking things will change.

It's insane

Makes my god damn blood boil.
