heh, ive been joking lately that im going to raise my kids to be Yankees, Lakers, Steelers, Packers and Patriots fans.

Very little heartbreak, guranteed a championship every year or two.

Nah. You can still be a fan of your team and hate everyone currently associated with it. Just stop buying their gear, stop paying for tickets and write letters/e-mails to the current guys. Urge the owner to sell. Tell the GM that he's a piece of shit. Tell all of them that they're an embarrassment to the legacy of your franchise. Don't give up on your team, don't let them destroy your fandom.

Yep. My son's friend's dad is from Boston. How great would it be to be able to say you cheer for the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics?

Another friend of his is a Jaguars fan. I told him he's young enough to pick a better team. Although I think their new owner will eventually get things on track...

When we do finally win another Super Bowl it'll be sweeter to fans like us that have been through hell and back, than it will be to bandwagon fans (Steelers, Cowboys, Yankees, Lakers, Patriots, Red Sox, etc.). I totally empathize, football is the only sport i really get into & i had to go and pick this, it feels like a curse.

Its taking every bit of willpower not to switch up to the Rams... good QB, a coach who is well on the way to turning things around, a non-meddling GM.

The football team at the high school that I went to my Sophomore year didn't win a game.

The school I went to the other three years' football team was also terrible and lucky to win more than a couple of games a year.

Both schools later won state championships.

When I went to Oregon State from '92 - '94, the football team won a total of 9 games over that three years. A few years later, they would blow out Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl to finish #4 in the nation. They have been a reasonably good team since (5-0 this year).

I started watching the Chiefs in '92. They were good the first few years but have been pretty bad most of the rest of the time.

Maybe y'all should take up a collection to hire me to become a Broncos fan. I obviously have bad football karma :)
