3.75?

I'd feel like I won the lotto if I saw it priced at the low price of 3.75 around here.

I worked at a gas station when I was 16.

Actual full service pumps.

Fill them up, check the oil and wash the windows.

All for the low price of 19 cents a gallon.

And cigarettes were 39 cents a pack.

WTF is sad about it? You're able to buy a gallon of highly processed condensed dead organisms and burn it in a mechanical explosion chamber to propel a multi-thousand pound vehicle tens of miles at significant speed for less than $5.

WTF is sad about it? You're able to buy a gallon of highly processed condensed dead organisms and burn it in a mechanical explosion chamber to propel a multi-thousand pound vehicle tens of miles at significant speed for less than $5.

This. Gas is a traded commodity. Due to rises in the economy and stock market, the price of gas will naturally rise.

So if you saved $1/gallon on gas, that saves you what, $15-$20 overall depending on the size of your tank? That probably pales in comparison to what many pay stupidly on interest rates in credit cars, car loans, and paying more for houses that they can't afford along with the high taxes that go with that.

Additionally, people could purchase vehicles that have higher miles per gallon but instead choose to buy gas guzzling SUVs that often make them fill up their tank twice as much as standard cars.

You can complain about many things in life. Gas shouldn't be one of them. Complain about the things you can control and do something about it. Then when commodities such as gas rise, it's not as a big deal in your life.
