Magnitude 7.7 earthquake hits Canada's British Columbia, USGS reports
WASHINGTON | Sat Oct 27, 2012 11:24pm EDT
(Reuters) - A magnitude 7.7 earthquake hit Canada's Pacific coast province of British Columbia on Saturday night, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The quake was centered 123 miles south-southwest of Prince Rupert at a depth of 6.2 miles, the USGS said.

When the Cascadia fault ruptures, it's going to make the San Andreas look like a crack. They think the Cascadia fault gave birth to the Native American story of the Thunderbird. When they tried to determine when it happened, they decided to go to Japan and read ancient scrolls and found evidence of a tsunami in Japan at the appropriate time. One day it's going to blow, and destroy Vancouver and Seattle and probably Portland.
I think the tsunami hit here about 9:00 am this morning.
Either that, or my neighbor's automatic watering system kicked on.
But just in case, I'm breaking out my old surfboard and an inflatable pool float that looks like a giant lobster.
