View Full Version : Chiefs This is the first time

I've been a Chiefs fan for 20 years and I have to say that this is the first time I'm embarrassed to call myself a fan.

I know this has been talked about a little bit, please forgive me, I need to purge.

One of the reasons I started watching this team is because the fans, team and organization have always been a class act. ( for the most part)

But that display by the defense last night was down right unacceptable. What happened to celebrating with a high five or jumping up to bump each other etc. without the showboating tactics?

This is tacky and classless. I would have sat every one of those guys out on the next series.

They should be embarrassed and apologizing to the fans for such a ridiculous act. Good behavior starts with discipline, which starts with the coach.

That is all

To that, I say, **** all you all! I may be pissed, and I may protest to some extent. However, this is my Team, thru thick and thin, and I will NEVER stop being a fan. Period.

Why can't NFL players be like my dad and I, who kept our heads down, clocked in for work every morning at 6 AM and left at 5 at night? We brought our lunch pails to work, worked our asses off, and that's how we got a raise after 10 years! Some part of me feels that this is the players just finally having enough. The defense played pretty outstanding last night. At some point you start to lose the locker room and this to me says the leadership on the players says lets go out there and play to our abilities and in the mean time embarrass the organization. EVERY player knows team celebrations are prohibited and subject to penalty yet they made a point to do it.
I think this is a slap in the face to management and with their play which will continue I feel is a recognition of the fans pleading for better play but not giving into the managing style.

1. The guy got paid $600,000 for that game

2. He dropped an easy catch

3. He dropped another easy catch when he turned and saw Ryan Clark coming at him 100 mph.

4. Romeo told the team anyone who fumbled would be benched and then he holds the ball out taunting the Pittsburgh CB? I sooo wished that kid would have stripped it from him.

5. 90% of the time he can only get open on a come back or curl route.

This. Everyone should know that choreographed celebrations are a penalty (I was surprised that Houston and Hali's dance after the sack wasn't flagged). It's okay to get excited after a good play but don't be stupid about it. I didn't have a problem with Charles' celebration after the TD or Bowe pointing to his back (I didn't like the taunt while he was going into the endzone, though) but don't do something that costs your team. Even if that had been a fumble and Houston scored, they would have had to kick off from the 15, likely giving the Steelers good field position.

I agree in the aspect that I hate the way Bowe always points to the back of his jersey. Our season tickets are in the corner where several of the players go to pray before the game. He is always the last one out there, dances around, prays to the point where he knows he's the last one up, then he dances around some more and points at the back of his jersey. He just comes across as being so full of himself. It wouldn't be so bad if he actually caught a few more passes. Part of that is on Cassel, but several of those are on him, too.

Should we get rid of him, though? Hell no. Get a coach in there that has some discipline, get a QB that can throw the damn ball, and see what he's really capable of.
