View Full Version : Weather Snow Freak out

Anybody watching channel 9 right now? They had a reporter in some podunk NW Missouri town reporting on the fact that there's no snow. She like "we've seen a little rain, but the snow isn't here yet. We might get an inch or two over the night." LMAO

I can't believe all of this coverage for a possible inch or two.

Nobody should have thread starting privs. Threads suck, and we've got too many of them already. If the hasn't already been a thread made for a topic, it's not worthy of discussion.

Is El Paso still about evenly divided between Cowboys fans and Raiders fans, or has everyone just given up and started watching tennis or golf or something?

Driving home tonight from work was a pain in the ass. People were driving 20 mph below the speed limit, slowing everyone down. Then you have the idiots going 20 mph over the speed limit and fish-tailing. One damn near clipped my Jeep. Dumbasses.

Took me almost two hours going from Independence to Overland Park. I have a jeep, too, and it's made for days like this. Problem was, too many other people stuck, and traffic was backed up all over the place. Lots of stuck semi's on hill grades. Once they get stopped, they can't get momentum to start up again. Exit from 435 to Raytown MO 350 was shut down, traffic crawled from I-70 to Gregory, that stretch took about 45 minutes. Kansas portion of 435 was in much better shape. It'll take a long time to get home tonight I'm sure. Everybody take it slow and easy.

Just enough snow to call off school everywhere around here, but far from enough to burn the big brush pile I've accumulated from clearing pasture the past couple years.

The problem wasn't the snow this morning in KC it was the half inch of solid ice on the road. The highways were littered with people stalled on the side of the road. Plus you can clearly see the spots were people collided with barriers. Luckily most people were only driving about 30 mph. It amazes me when I talk to people how few of them realize they need to drive in a lower gear.
