The Kansas City Chiefs (http://www.kffl.com/team/21/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs) are expected to part ways with head coach Romeo Crennel (http://www.kffl.com/player/8303/nfl/romeo-crennel), and there are several big names as potential candidates to replace him. The Chiefs (http://www.kffl.com/team/21/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs) might be interested in Indianapolis Colts (http://www.kffl.com/team/19/nfl/indianapolis-colts) interim head coach and offensive coordinator Bruce Arians (http://www.kffl.com/player/8295/nfl/bruce-arians), Arizona Cardinals (http://www.kffl.com/team/6/nfl/arizona-cardinals) defensive coordinator Ray Horton (http://www.kffl.com/player/16284/nfl/ray-horton), Cincinnati Bengals (http://www.kffl.com/team/12/nfl/cincinnati-bengals) offensive coordinator Jay Gruden (http://www.kffl.com/player/24008/nfl/jay-gruden), Washington Redskins (http://www.kffl.com/team/37/nfl/washington-redskins) offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan (http://www.kffl.com/player/6282/nfl/kyle-shanahan) or St. Louis Rams (http://www.kffl.com/team/34/nfl/st.-louis-rams) offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer (http://www.kffl.com/player/11483/nfl/brian-schottenheimer), among others.

at this point, I don't really have a preference (except no to Cowher); but whoever they hire better be the right guy. Period.
He'd better be innovative, forward thinking. He must be able to evolve with the talent that he has, and will obtain.
He must inspire professional athletes; he must preach discipline and emphasize winning....not just coach speak pre-game winning....but genuinely demand that they win.
He must not feel that average play is acceptable, regardless of record.

I'd be open to Shanahan, Jay Gruden, Mike Zimmer, The Chin, Chip or Brian Kelly, McCoy, Arians, and Shaw. Unlikely. I'd also be happy with Fewell if Marc Ross came. But he's probably going to Carolina.

I just want an offensive head coach that is a good play caller for today's NFL. A guy like Arians with a young offensive mind at OC to groom to take over in a few years would be optimum... Then hire a big time dc to run the dc ...a guy like Ron Rivera would be my preference there if he shakes loose.

I'll be very disappointed if we don't hire a well rounded coaching staff.

Hire a head coach who disciplines and gets players to play fundamentally sound football.

Hire the coordinators to do the x's and o's and coach up our qb.

Our priorities are completely backwards.

In our discussions about Arians, you were right about one thing. He never did get any calls for head coaching positions even after impressive results in the players he has coached.

I thought that was odd, but it turns out it was true.

Whatever was looked at as a flaw with him was obviously overstated though, he has probably earned the coach of the year award.

Herm for head coach
Greg Robinson for defensive
Jimmy Ray for offensive
Gunther's fog glasses for special teams

This only works if we can get Frisco's unwanted 3rd string QB in a trade.

He will get coach of the year and he deserves it. But I still stand by 32 teams who passed on him for 15 years and a good pittsburgh front office that wanted him fired even though the offense wasnt terrible last year there.

He was a players coach when the team needed an emotional lift, he has Andrew luck, and his last 8 wins were against teams under .500. I think if anything, his success has been overstated. He's a good coordinator. Good qbs coach, though he's also been gifted with two elite talents. Like Romeo and norv, I also see him as a guy whose desire to be friends with players and not put them in their place will limit his success.
