Chiefs have proven they are colorblind when it comes to hiring coaches. They also don't discriminate against old people, fat people, coaches with losing records, coaches who never played football (only golf), germans, etc. We should get an exception to the Rooney Rule.

Sometimes I wonder how these candidates feel? I guess getting an interview always raises your profile, which isn't a bad thing. But when it's pretty obvious that it's a "go through the motions because you're not white" interview, that could be kind of insulting.

If you think about it besides the HC the ST coach is the only other guy who interacts with guys on both sides of the ball.

The Rooney Rule ensures that potentially capable minority coaches receive interview experience. The rule allows for the further professionalization and profile for coaches on the outside looking in of an NFL that is still a big Old Boys Club. It's a fine rule. Yes, it often wastes the time of organizations. The rule isn't in place for the benefit of those organizations. It's in place for individuals, not necessarily to get the jobs their interviewed for but to help make sure they can get the jobs they're legitimately interviewed for in the future.

We would be better off with Horshack and Mr. Kotter, and Horshack is dead.
