What does everyone think about him?
He definately is more defense and special teams oriented.
He seems to fit a lot of Clarks requirements.

Inability to make the playoffs makes him a cultural fit.

I like Lovie Smith, probably my sole pick of coaches recently fired to come in here and coach. However, I don't think the Chiefs Nation is ready for ANOTHER defensive minded coach of African American descent. Herm, Crennel, Lovie? The Fans would commit mass suicide.

He's just an awful fit.

Can't find offensive coaches to coach. Offensive talent has increased every year he's been there but the product remains the same.

Defense needs all world talent to be really good. Schemes are dated unless you have freak players like Tillman, Urlacher, Peppers and Briggs.

Absolutely fucking not.

Absolutely not. We've already went though Herman Edwards once.

Good god, no. Runs a defense that is increasingly obsolete. Never cold run a good offense.

He can build you a borderline playoff team and steak a few playoff wins. That shouldn't be acceptable.

I think it has less to do with race and football philosophy, and more to do with the fact that the fan base would like to stop hiring losers.

Not hiring a loser is an important first step in building a winner.

I'd rather hire Cleo McDowell and get free burgers.

Nah....hes not bad, but not a big enough splash for the situation that the Chiefs are in. Nor is he the type of guy you hire to turn a team around/rebuild project.

this guy had a lot of talent on that defense and a okay QB, good WR and good RB and still couldnt make it to the playoffs

really. 10-6 was the best he could do with a really, really good team on paper. That's on him. he's a turd

Can't find offensive coaches to coach. Offensive talent has increased every year he's been there but the product remains the same.

It does seem like some of the coordinators systems didn't match thier talent. i.e. Having Martz trying to run his offense without much talent on the OLine.

Lovie in some ways makes me think of Marty. A guy that has gotten close but just can't get the job done, play good defense and special teams and run the ball and make a pass when you have to.

Logically, it has absolutely nothing to do with race. But that isn't how the public would see it. In a broad generalization, the public is a stupid flock of sheep that will listen to anything. I guarantee that if Lovie gets hired and doesn't immediately put us in the playoffs, there's going to be a ton of racially driven arguments about Chiefs coaches, and it will be the absolute epitome of dumb nfl topics. Then again, I don't put it past the masses to do so.

Well we do have to keep in mind the division they are in is not just a cake walk or nothing now. That 10-6 record was 3rd place in that division.

I don't watch that much of the Bears but Cutler and Marshall both have attitude problems that didn't help. Forte is one of my favorite RBs in the league.
Lovie always seemed very hands off when it comes to the offense.

Brandon Marshall had the best year of his career and caught like 118 balls for 1500 yards and 11 touchdowns and was voted the BEARS MVP.

and they still couldnt make the playoffs. That's on Lovie, not the players. The players produced. It wasnt like the Chiefs where the players didnt produce and the coaching was bad.

Like people said it was an outdated defense with all pro talent, that ruined them. And the awful o-line.

Finding coordinators to fit his players is on Lovie. He's a coach for the mid 90s. Not in the passing leagues of the 2010s.

no fucking way.

He's awful. Tampa 2 is a joke unless you have Brooks/Lynch/Barber/Sapp or Briggs/Urlacher/Tillman/Peppers...

That team should have won more games than it did. No o-line and an archaic defensive scheme...plus, he has NO offensive identity. Terry Shea...Ron Turner...Mike Martz...Mike Tice. MIKE TICE!!

No. Fucking. Way.
