Cumulus and CBS Sports Radio launched their new national sports radio network on January 1. KC its 102.5.

Its got Jim Rome and Doug Gottlieb, it will be intresting to see if they get in on the local sports craze though. It would make Chiefs talk intrested since Cumulus owns the rights to it.

Sweet. If I was in KC, I would be looking forward to hitting this up if 610 and 810 are both simultaneously on commercial break.

My summary of what Jim Rome says at the end of every interview ever:

What a great guy. *shuffles papers* He is truly one of the nicest in the business. Can't wait to have him back on. What a guy.

Dude got called out for slapping his wife on the air by David Stern. That was interesting.

You realize how Jim Rome rarely lets the interview speak for itself? "Wow, that was an AWESOME take. Great interview. Probably one of the best of all time."

Meh, I might listen to Gottlieb but not really interested in anything but local sports.

LMAO It is so true and I personally can't stand his show. Although I do give him credit for managing to be so politically correct but at the same time having a reputation as being "real."

that sucks. right now its 24 hour comedy, which is all I could listen to with the abortion of sports in KC. Rome blows.

"I mean, am I the ONLY ONE outraged by John Rocker?" Jim Rome, taking a controversial stand, circa 1999

Rome is a cunt. I'd listen to Gottleib, he has funny takes and stories, for a petty thief.

Wasn't that the comedy channel? They think National Sports will succeed instead?

Isn't he on at 2 in the morning? How often will that be?

It was kind of funny last week. Jay Mohr got a daily radio show on Fox Sports in the same time slot as Jim, starting today. Premier, from what a radio guy in Tulsa told me, was mad at Jim Rome for leaving. When Jim was on vacation the last week of December Jay Mohr guest hosted the Jim Rome show (on Premier), where he basically pitched his own show, and took shots at Jim. I think Premier let Mohr host Rome's show so he could take shots at Jim and sell his own show.
It had to piss Rome off.

I've heard third hand originating from StuckNut that such an incident did happen and was the reason why one of Rome's underlings no longer worked for the Xr4TI

Yeah, I doubt it. Travis left because he got replaced, pretty much. I wouldn't believe much you read on Stucknut.

Looking forward to hearing Gottlieb, even though he's a scum sucking Cowboy and one of the worst free throw shooters ever. He's a good follow on twitter too.

I listened to the interview. Rome asked Stern about rigging the draft, Stern popped off with the wife slapping comment and Rome explained it as a rhetorical question which makes sense.

I thought it interesting when I heard the rumors of why Travis Rogers was no longer on the broadcasting team, which blaise has commented on.

Here's the thing I wonder about. Seeing that 102.5 and 101.1 are both owned by Cumulus, does this mean that the Chiefs will move to 102.5 from KCFX? If not, then Cumulus will be competing against themselves during the NFL season.

Cumulus owns many radio stations...they compete against each other every day

No they won't move the games off 101.1, thats a 100,000 watt powerhouse. The post game shows and shows during the week that the Chiefs have a deal with 810 could be the ones in play.

I'm talking about Chiefs play by play vs. their own SPORTS station. None of their other stations in KC are going after the same demographic.
