I accidentally deleted a video on my phone and I've been searching the web all night trying to figure out how to recover it. All I can find is a bunch of expensive file recovery programs. Surely people accidentally delete stuff all the time and there has to be an easier way to recover it for free, right? It's just a single video; I didn't delete multiple files.

The phone is a Samsung Galaxy SII. Anybody have any experience or knowledge of how to do this without paying a bunch of money?

as far as I know they have a MAC version, but I've never used it. You will install the software, then use it to recover the file off the memory card.

It looks like it's only compatible with PC. Thanks for the recommendation though. I appreciate it.

I'm no expert, but if you install software before recovering the lost data, isn't there a chance that you'll overwrite the data you wish to recover, thereby making it unrecoverable?

No, it's recoverable, I'm just looking for a way to recover it for free. I downloaded a "free trial" of some program and it was able to find the video, but they wanted like $40 to actually recover it.

Do a search for the program you used via torrents that is the premium version?

And yeah, you've likely already done this, but I'd remove your sd card from your phone to insure the file doesn't get overwritten.

Must not be a very important picture.

Reminds me of a story, this friend of mine came into work all bummed out.
He broke down and said he had a pic of his penis taken to show some girl he met on the net. His wife found the file and of course recognized it. He had to explain to his wife it was a joke and such. It didn't go over very well as expected. A few years later they divorced. (they had other issues besides that incident)

He is a strange one and his wife certainly is also. It wasn't going to workout.
It was the second marriage for them both. Their first marriage was to each other, heh. Third time won't be a charm i can assure you if that ever happens.

A different friend had trust issues obviously. When he would come home, usually out with a buddy drinking and watching a game or the like she would make him pull down his pants and she would smell for penis for the smell of sex.

Everyone told him NOT to marry that bitch she was truly trouble with a capital T. She had twins, a year later they divorced and child payments ensued.

"I should have listened to all of you" he would say. We just laughed at him and told he was f*cked.
