Hate to start a new thread, but wanted to make sure people saw this. You guys seem to like Sam's views.

It's a big-boy move.

Reid may or may not be a great coach, but he's the most accomplished coach available, and Clark identified him and got him.

If you just look at the things he's done - not perception - he's been a great owner. He's terrible at talking to the fans, but would rather walk the walk.

Re: Philly fans saying "careful what you wish for."

There is no perfect candidate. The first 11-12 years certainly outweigh the last 2.

For what was available, best track record.

Doesn't sound as if Sam is too awful high on the guy.

Clark will be more involved, but still not an out in public type of owner.

He'll play referee between any HC/GM issues.

I see it this way. Were we telling Sandy Eggo fans to watch out for Marty before he promptly led them to a 14-2 season?

I wouldn't listen to Philly fans. He was there for FOURTEEN years, of course they were sick of him.

Which shouldn't be a huge problem considering the HC and GM are ON THE SAME PAGE.

Clark doesn't feel he has the qualifications to be a Jerry Jones type of owner.

But will be more willing to ask the tough questions of Reid and staff, instead of letting someone run everything like he did Scott.

Some times a simple change of scenery does that trick. I expect a completely recharged and focused AR

Don't be sorry. It's a good day. Anything that sheds light on the new Coach and Management is fine by me. Thanks for doing this.

There is no perfect candidate.

Goes back to what I keep saying.

Find a guy who knows how to win.

The difference between him and another guy who knows how to win is gonna be QB.

That's the good feeling I have. And with having the #1 pick we don't have to worry about our GM trying to find the next Tom Brady in round 6

Exactly, all good things come to an end.

There was just too much drama swirling around him towards the end there, i'm convinced this change of scenery will rejuvenate the guy... an honest to goodness fresh start.

At times like this, i'm all for new threads with different slants and takes, good info and ideas are too easily lost in the massive threads.

That is one thing I like is it's a fresh start for all of us. I think this is as good for him as it is for us. It's got to work out. Hope we just get a fresh young QB from the draft with our first pick to have 10-15 years of success with.

What did "we" tell them about Marty that came to fruition? Marty was a good coach at KC that like most HC's needed to move on after 10 years. Unlike many Chiefs coaches Marty got his teams to overperform which set the wrong expectations more often than not - period.

We told them that Marty would let them down in the playoffs. Which he did repeatedly.

yeah when I hear shit like that I just think people don't know what the they're talking about. You could say he took at 8-8 team at best to a 14-2 season.

Then he went full Marty in the playoffs. Again.

Anyone that say's Marty was not a good HC is full of shit. Not saying that your saying he was, but I see it quite a bit around here.
