Among the AFC teams in the playoffs, who matches up best against Denver? Why?

The Chiefs. Because we play a top notch 3-4.

We are in the playoffs, right?

It will be interesting if they face the Colts and the Colts win.

I think Houston (if they are on their game) has the best chance to beat them.

Patriots are the best chance to beat them, but they have't played well in Denver in the playoffs and Manning is on fire.

I hope they beat them though.

If the Broncos win another SB I'm going to be so pissed.

Houston only has a chance if they can get pressure on Manning, and through the last 6 weeks or so, the only guy that has been able to get pressure consistently is JJ Watt.

If they can't get pressure, their back end is suspect, at best, and Manning will shred them.

if that happens, the Texans offense can not keep up with the Donkey offense.

They won't. There's not a team in the AFC that is going to be able to beat ATL or Green Bay who's now starting to get healthy at the right time.

They've already lost to NE and Houston but I think NE gives them the biggest challenge.

New England. Donkey's aren't making it to the SuperBowl. Take out their AFC West wins(for obvious reasons) and their record doesn't look too good. They are good but not what the media makes them out to be.

Remember, this is not a question of the best roster talent. It's a question of match ups at crucial positions. I hope someone here can break that down for me.

I agree with those saying NE until I see a good argument against them. Which means I have to root for a team I'm sick and tired of to go to another SB over one I hate.

NE...their TEs are really good and the Broncos, as always, get burned by TEs. Brady will not be able to run that really up tempo BS at Mile High though. I see a lot of false starts, delay of game penalties, and Brady hissy fits if the crowd is as loud as it should be.

If they can keep Brady clean he's a dandy. I don't see him staying clean against the Broncos pass rush, infact, I see Von Miller and Dumervile getting inside Brady's head and kicking walls in.

Last time the Broncos played the Patriots, they couldn't stop Brady or that offense at all.

Jack Del Rio got his ass handed to him last time they played. It's all about how well the Pats defense handles Manning.

All 3 of Denver's losses came against teams they could face again in the post season. They also all came relatively early in the season.

Denver's rushing D is 3rd in yards per game, and 2nd in yards per attempt
Denver's pass D leads the league in sacks and is 5th in yards per completion

This team isn't just Manning. Like it or not, they are a tough out. If Houston can run, and Watt can harass Manning, they have a chance. If Brady is on, he can beat them. But right now, I wouldn't bet against them.

Keep in mind that the Patriots completely dismantled the Texans less than a month ago-ish, and it was Brutal. The Brady-Manning Bowl will never be a bad game, I just don't think Denver can out coach BB and Brady.

More complete? Maybe the Pats homer in me is too strong, but I believe the Patriots offense is about 35 times more complete and effective than Denver's.

If you shut down two players in the Broncos offense, you can basically stymie their "Big play" ability.

Not to mention with Gronk back, they've become even MORE complete.

AFCW that is 6 Easy winsIt is. And you could argue that it's padded their statistical rankings as well. The 2 toughest opponents they've faced in the 2nd half of the season are Baltimore and Cincy, and both those wins came at Denver.

I do think teams can keep it close with Denver. They don't have the ability to blow your doors off like NE can.

Complete includes defense as well as offense.

The Pats are still a mediocre defense, while the Donkeys are a top 5 D.

As for the Pats O being more complete... not IMO, at least not by much. It's certainly more explosive, and they have more weapons, but both teams rely heavily on the passing game.

The Patriots offense is more dynamic, more explosive than the Denver offense. Denver has yet to beat teams this year that are actually legit contenders. The Patriots just stomped out Houston who at the time, was the #1 team in the AFC.
The Patriots will have no issue bringing the "game" to the Broncos, and in games like these, it doesn't matter if the Pats have a Defense, you will never completely shut down Peyton. More importantly is that you successfully scheme against him. BB happens to be the best schemer in the league.

It doesn't matter where they ranked as a team, because they did not play that many common opponents. If you want an accurate ranking, look at the common opponents. I'm sure the Patriots will look much better than they currently do statistically.

And again, the Pats won't have to stop Peyton, they just have to slow him down. The Patriots will have no problem dicing up the Denver defense and scoring at will. BB will make sure of that.

BUt you'd be a fool to think Denver with Decker, Thomas, and who? Stokley/Tamme? is better than Welker, Gronk, Hernandez, Lloyd, Woodhead, and company.

Pats offense > Denver offense. DID YOU SEE how many points the pats put up this year?

I didn't know M&T Bank Stadium was in Denver. I also don't know why it matters, since the playoffs go through Denver.

You can slow the Patriot offense down if you can get consistent pressure on Tom Brady, and I believe, though I haven't checked, that the Donkeys led the league in sacks.

And since you are reading comprehension impaired, I never said Denver was a better offense. I said I don't think NE's offense is significantly more complete. Neither team is overly scary running the ball.

Look, I think NE has a good chance of beating Denver, and if Brady's "on" it could be a massacre. But I see a lot of people underestimating Denver and the fact that it's at Incestco. Brady is not infallible. Hell, KC has given the guy some tough games over the years. If he isn't able to settle into the pocket, he can be rattled. and Denver happens to be very good at getting to the QB.
