If you get one Chiefs fan that answers "yes" to this question, they should be stabbed in the neck by a 49ers fan. Russell was the greatest draft pick in Raiders history.

Al Davis wasn't scared to draft a black QB #1.

Al made the right choice, and I am more than satisfied with the results.

Bad parody thread. The other one was started long before the answer became obvious.

I think the Raiders should trade this years draft to the Chiefs to move up to number 1 to draft him again.

Just because your team is the ONE fucking exception to the "always draft the franchise QB if you don't have one" rule in the modern NFL era doesn't mean everybody else should follow suit.

Oh, and the Raiders should have all taken cyanide capsules and ended their pathetic ass existences in the Jamarcus Russell draft. There's your answer.

I bet Kiper never had Cam Newton rated #1 over all after he got burned on Russel. The cowardly pompus ass.

I read that the Raiders GM thinks Teo is a first round talent. I hope they take him at #3.

Who set their respective franchise back the most -- Cassel or Russell?

How long was Russell their man before they realized he wasn't?

Russell set them back two and a half years, plus 32 million in guarantees, plus the #1 pick.

Cassel set the Chiefs back four years, plus 28 million in guarantees, plus the 34th pick.

I would say the Chiefs got the brunt of the deal.

They took a shot and he busted. Nothing wrong with that.

If the Raiders had adequately vetted Jamarcus Russell, they never would have wasted the #1 overall pick on him. It would have been obvious to any competent GM and head coach that Russell didn't have the desire or the drive to succeed.

I'm pretty confident that Dorsey and Reid will have an adequate vetting process. If they use the #1 overall pick on Geno Smith, he won't be a flop.

And had that been us drafting Jamarcus Russell we would draft another QB NEVER. The Todd Blackledge curse has set us back another 30 years and still waiting to be broke.

The True Fans would have been hanging from the end of a noose if we missed on a 1st round QB. You can bust on a 3-4 end, but not a QB!!

I don't know how anyone could watch a Jamarcus Russel interview and think that he should be the face of the franchise.

The moment he opened his mouth i thought he'd be a bust.

I bet there were plenty of yo-yo's chirping about how KC needs to get Russel

this. Love that creepy Al pick. Even when his coach said "don't do it!" creepy Al said "My team, my way!"

Rooney rule should require that any team with the #1 pick in the draft has to draft a black QB. It's the only way we can get true diversity in the NFL.

Vick, Russel and Newton all have/had charactor concerns. I think teams are scared shitless.

-A black ESPN staffer was fired for calling RGIII not black enough. I wonder if III was packaged to pass the sniff test.

Another example of why drafting a QB is too risky. Play it low and slow.

They had a first round Qb bust, under the old CBA, yet they have been better than KC.

Easy, yeah was the right choice.

First round QB's have busted, first round QB's have won SB's. Either way, we still should take one...............in the first round.
