Congrats to @JHouston50 , who is the Chiefs sixth Pro Bowl player in 2013, replacing Denver's @MillerLite40 (due to injury)

I like Tamba, but Houston outplayed Tamba by a mile this year. He deserved a spot more than Tamba did.

Its a decent accolade in terms of recognition but I'd honestly rather none of our players even play in the Pro Bowl...

I know probowl is not much, but 6 players on a team that went 2-14 is pretty good.

Hell, we may get more, as ridiculous as it already is. They haven't replaced the 6 Ravens yet to my knowledge, and there's bound to be more guys begging off.

I knew McCluster had Pro Bowl talents!!! He had sick numbers this year! He led the league in balls that bounced off his hands that resulted in opposition TD's and I'm not even counting the time he died and decided to just fumble the ball so the other team could score on that one, too!

Why not? Don't they just fly to Hawaii (Florida?) for a week and play glorified flag football?

I think it's a total joke we have 6 pro bowlers...it literally makes no sense. I like it as a Chiefs fan, but Johnson, Hali, and Berry DEFINITELY don't deserve the pro bowl IMO (especially Berry and Hali) and Houston was right where he should have been (alternate)...disappeared in too many games (not sure if Crennel had a hand in that always making him drop back rather than get to the passer, though it's something he's good at)...

I'm cool with Charles and Colquitt, of course. But really...I don't give a shit about a punter that doesn't even really count.

Berry and Hali were truly WTF selections...but at least it'll make the Pro Bowl watchable for us.

I'm taking the NFC though, LMAO

The ones on defense don't. They pretty much jog if they are in the secondary and stand there if they are on the d-line. Linebackers may as well set up a card table so they don't get bored. What a snoozefest of a game.

Hootie
01-22-2013, 08:42 PM
and I'll tell you right now...if Berry doesn't make a Ed Reed/Polamalu OR AT LEAST an Earl Thomas like contribution next year I'm going to be pissed.

This dude should be getting a few sacks, some picks and a TD or two every year as well as being a force in the running game.

He's supposed to be a PLAYMAKER...and this year, I think I saw him make MAYBE 2 great plays.

I don't really give a shit but it is a pretty big joke that a 2 win team tripled that total with Pro Bowlers.

Come on. It makes a joke of a game an even bigger joke and now we have to be at the butt of it.

How does it make the Chiefs the butt of a joke?

Crennel, sure.

But the team as a whole? No.

A case can be made for how pathetic the coaching and leadership was of a team with that much individual recognition and such little team achievement.

So how many of our "Pro Bowlers" have to blow out their knees in the game this weekend to have this become the most epically disastrous football season in the history of the NFL?

Cmon man. All those guys are legit talents and a big reason why many thought the team would win 9-10 games last year. This is one of the more talented teams picking number one in quite some time and Reid knows it.

Pro Bowl or former...
Charles
Bowe
Hali
Houston
D.Johnson
Berry
Colquitt

Borderline Pro Bowl...
Albert
Winston
Flowers

Solid.....
Breaston (still don't understand why he doesn't play)
Hudson
Copper (ST)
Siler (ST)

UP'nComing/Improving
Allen
Asamoah
Poe
Pituotuaweirdsamoanname

Needs work...
Allen
Stephenson
Succop
Arenas (though should be better as a NCB)
Baldwin

Time's up - GTFO
Cassel
Quinn
McCluster
Hillis (yes a former PB, but let's be honest though he's never getting back to that level)
Jackson
Dorsey
Lewis
Lilja (he retired, but he'd be on this list)

IMO this team needs about 5-7 (Draft + FA) new immediate impact players this season to really turn this thing around from a worst to first type of deal. QB is the major hole...i mean MAJOR. If that isn't fixed then nothing else will really matter.

Other than QB, this team needs at least 1 starter from the following positions:
- S
- CB
- DL
- WR

It also wouldn't hurt to have depth at these positions
- OL
- CB
- ILB/OLB

This will be a quick fix if QB is solved. We have a good coaching staff coming in here. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Since it is obvious the players don't really care about the Pro Bowl, I'd rather they do something with entertaining challenges and obstacle courses. I remember a while ago, they had a thing down at Disney World with a QB challenge, receiving challenge, and a RB challenge. Watching Joey Harrington stumble through the QB challenge and then end it by throwing a pick to a cardboard cut out was more entertaining than the last five Pro Bowls combined.
