JaMarcus Russell aiming for comeback LMAO:LOL:
By The Sports Xchange | The SportsXchange – 2 hours 4 minutes ago
Three years removed from his last NFL game, JaMarcus Russell is eyeing a comeback.
Russell, a quarterback who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 draft, told Yahoo Sports that he plans to get back in shape in an effort to land another job in the NFL.
He was released by the Raiders following the 2009 season, his third disappointing year in Oakland, and he hasn't been back in the league since.
"My first year out, I couldn't watch football but after a while, I couldn't keep the TV off. I got that itchy feeling but now I gotta watch it, gotta watch," Russell told Yahoo Sports. "The last few years, the things going through my life, football is my job and it is how it feeds my family.
"People would say (that) I didn't love the game but that (ticks) me off. People don't know the real you but I want people to know the real me and see what I can do. People are always saying that I'm a bust. I want show them I'm not. I'm committed to this now."
According to Yahoo Sports, Russell is receiving guidance from ex-NFL wide receiver Mike Clayton, a fellow LSU product, and he plans to consult with former NFL players Jeff Garcia, Scott Brunner and Marshall Faulk. Russell reportedly weighs 308 pounds, down from 320 last year. His playing weight was listed at 265.
Russell, 27, last made headlines in 2010 when he was arrested in Mobile, Ala., on suspicion of possession of codeine syrup without a prescription. However, he was never indicated in the case involving the so-called "purple drank."
In 25 starts for the Raiders, Russell posted a 7-18 record. He completed 52.1 percent of his passes for 4,083 yards. He threw 18 touchdown passes and was intercepted 23 times.

What would be real funny is if we sign him, and Andy Reid made him great. Not gonna happen, but it would be a nice stab at the Raiders.

Again, not gonna happen.

I think I remember reading that they once gave him a blank dvd on purpose and told it was game film for him to go over. Came back talking about he watched the whole thing.

What a waste of probably the strongest arm I've ever seen.

Duh. He's broke. He's tasted of the NFL's silver spoon. He wants to return. DUH! Apparently throwing 60 yard bombs from your knees doesn't translate as an actual NFL talent. How about this, Jamarcus... stop losing weight. Convert to offensive line. Come to camp. We'll see what you got and how much you are really committed "NOW"!

LMAO He can do the ol' blank DVD trick.

Reid - "Hey Jamarcus...you watch that game film on the burned DVD I gave to you?"

JR - "Yeah man, good stuff, learned a lot"

Reid - "It was just a blank disc, Jamarcus. There was nothing on it."

JR - "Purple drank, muthafucka! Yo Sebastian....get my fuuur coat."

Before you read what I'm about to say, lock up all of your guns, move to the ground floor of your building, and put your medications somewhere secure.

Jamarcus Russell's career quarterback rating is 65.2, compared to the 63.8 that our quarterbacks put up in 2012.

At his age and size, he should be able to eat an apple and shit that much weight off in one day.

It is so sad to hear that he is having trouble feeding his family on that payday he got.

Lol, Schlereth is ripping him for only dropping 12lbs.

While it is mainly water weight, you can drop up to 15lbs in a day even as a smaller human being.

If he had been working his ass off for 2 months and eating correctly, he could have gone from 320 to 250-270.

Russell, who was drafted ahead of Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson, Patrick Willis, Marshawn Lynch and Darrelle Revis -- go Raiders! -- hasn’t played in the NFL since Oakland released him after the 2009 season, and the leaguewide trend is toward mobile quarterbacks, not offensive lineman with strong throwing arms. Yet some NFL teams could still give Russell a look. Here they are:

No. A kid would love to have this opportunity. Most college qbs would take this opportunity and run with it despite their limitations (i.e. McCoy). I don't know what the fuck to classify JR as other than a lazy "I take this for granted" player.

Look, it simply didn’t work out with Peyton Manning. He came in and, unlike his predecessor, couldn’t even win a playoff game. Say what you will about Russell, but he doesn’t have Manning’s track record of playoff failure.

Hey I like this solution. Do it Fox.
