It's that time again. I know a few years back, this was a popular thread & challenge.

I figured the day after the Super Bowl would be a good start date, to allow us to dry out / detox etc. I managed to complete the challenge and then some the last time we did this, so hopefully I'll have the same results this go-round.

Good luck all, and God Speed. :thumb:

**shew** at least it's not a don't fap for 90 days thread.

I'm out. if so.

This may want to get bump (not bump the poster) for the people waking up from hangovers today.

Yeah, this was my date as well.

I lost weight pretty easy at 28 and 34 but at 37 I'm thinking there'll be some angry moments...

when I did that last one, I felt great at the end. I combined that with the Couch to 5 K jogging program and lost I think around 20lbs.

at the end I had 2 or 3 beers with some friends, I I had a healthy buzz lol.

I drink way to much beer; and getting way too fat in doing so. not to mention the $.

I'd love to do it. I love running and doing triathlons, and I find alcohol can get in the way of my training sometimes.

That said, I'm going snowboarding in a couple of weeks, and there's no way I'm going to give up the chance to try a boatload of local Colorado brews.

I planned on doing this after my birthday in March until my trip to Vegas in September.

If you would like to postpone until then I would be all in.

No you need to do this at the start of Lent, the day after Mardi Gras.

Mardi Gras - 2/12/13
Lent - 2/13/12

This would be tough. I mean I don't consider myself an Alcoholic, but boy, to go 90 days without a beer or whiskey.
Wishing you all luck...I am out.

In my case there is no way in hell I could even go a week without drinking

a few years ago when I did this, the first weekend was the most difficult it seemed; and the occasional"had a horrible day at work; I could use a beer" was hard.

I usually drink beer while playing video games, so that association will be difficult to break. I might use any money saved to maybe start building a game rig that will be used for Flight Simulator only.

Seems like you could do that for pretty cheap.

I think so too. or, at least I hope it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. In my limited research, it looks like the ideal speed would be about3.6Mhz, and 4GB+ of RAM.

of course, I don't know jack when it comes to that level of computer detail.
I just want something that is dedicated to FSX, that won't lock up, or be jerky etc.

I'm also going to get it set up using the plans on here possibly:

Just in the last couple of years have I started drinking. And lately it's been heavy. I joined this 1 day late, but I'm in. We'll see if I can make it. LOL

Good mental exercise here.

nice!
I went to a mexican restaurant last night and refrained from the large Dos Equis Amber they had on draw; 24oz for $4. and a few nights this week I REALLY wanted a beer after some rough days at work.

I had been drinking a ton during football season; a TON. but, I already feel a little better. Last time I did it, the first week was a bitch, but got progressively better after I started dis-associating my recreation (video games, movies, guitar etc) activities with having a beer.

This is my 3rd day and I don't ever go crazy over it. Sometimes sleeping can be a bitch though. I quit smoking weed so I'll be interested to see how it plays out.

I think in 2011 when I went nearly 7 months without a drink. I felt great - both physically and mentally.

Keep it up, Dayze.

I will be doing the same thing at the end of March.

I know dude. A tall Dos Equix AMber draw is one of my top 3-5 draw beers.

It was rough.

I was at the point where I could pound an 18 pack on a Saturday night.

having a high tolerance is expensive.

This. I haven't had a drink in five years (and that was just a gluten-free beer to see if it was any good - it wasn't) so this should be a snap. :D

I get doing this if you have a real drinking problem. If not, I don't see the point. It's like giving up anything else you like, why? I was getting bad about drinking rum on weekends, so I quit drinking rum on weekends and now I just enjoy a couple of good craft beers on the weekend. Good luck to you guys that are doing this, but I'm not giving up drinking 6 or 7 good beers on a weekend. I enjoy it too much.
