The Jets should be in play for the service of Alex Smith despite the love afair between Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez. Rex Ryan is on the hot seat and their fan base wont tollerate much more of the inept quarterback play of Mark Sanchez and they don't trust Tim Tebow to be their savior.

It's their time to win now says Jets fans. Rumor has it that Rex Ryan has been putting his nose to the feet work of Alex Smith. This is a perfect time for the Jets to make a big splash to make a move to help their team be successful before the hammer drops on Rex Ryan. Alex Smith could be their guy.

According to a source the New York Jets are willing to trade Darrelle Revis and a second round draft pick to the San Francisco 49ers for quarterback Alex Smith.

Revis is recovering from a torn ACL, at the time of his injury he was considered one of the best shutdown corners in the league. Smith on the other hand was having a career year when he was benched in favor of Colin Kaepernick. Smith wants out of San Francisco with the chance to start some where else.
