I've got a buddy who is a huge Eagles fan and was telling me earlier that there is a good chance that Nnamdi will be released because of his cap hit and that Philly doesn't feel as if a 32 year old highly paid CB is worth the trouble with Chip remaking the team. IF he does get cut, would he be someone we would want? I doubt someone of his reputation would get less than 8 mil a year, but with Cassel and Jackson's cap hit likely being reduced, would he be a smart signing, or would just using the draft or cheaper younger CB in FA to obtain our other starter be the way to go?

He's done.

He cares more about acting and modeling than football. Always has. The difference is now that he's getting older it's starting to show because he used get by with being naturally gifted but as you get older you gotta work harder. His passion was never football.

Even if he is done, wouldn't he be an upgrade over what we currently have? How would you prefer we fix our gaping hole at CB2?

Sign him to play LT and move Albert to guard.

Via the draft.

I could understand and argument for Cary Williams if he becomes available but he's going to (and rightly so) desire as much, if not more money than Flowers.

Do we want another ex-Oakland retread with mileage on him? Wasn't Stanford Route enough of that experiment?

Only if he comes cheap which he won't.

I'm open to the idea of getting our #2 CB in FA but not on this guy. 32? He'd be like a 1, 2 year stop gap at most.

Get someone younger or draft your guy relatively high.

I'd take him at the right price...

I'm a huge Eagles fan. I can tell you that you don't want Nnamdi Asomougha even IF you could get him for the league minimum. He flat out can NOT play. I don't mean he's fallen off a bit. I meant he sucks. Period. He's slow. Can't tackle. Can't cover. No ball skills. Doesn't make the right reads in zone. No redeeming qualities whatsoever. He was ranked something like 190th out of about 210 total DBs in the league by profootballfocus.com for 2012. Yeah, he's really that bad.

Andy Reid coached this guy and realizes what a huge disappointment he was for the Eagles.

No way Andy Reid would want this guy unless he plays for the veteran minimum.

Go print out the list of combine invitees. Not just the DBs, everybody. Close your eyes. Point at the list. I'd rather have that guy covering WRs than Nnamdi.

...Oakland has to take Cassel, San Diego has to take Quinn, and Peyton Manning has to have a torrid affair with Tonya Harding.

Its amazing how fast he fell apart, went from one of the supposed two best in the league to just a guy almost overnight.

He was an instant disappointment in philly, do not want.

Patriots will sign him for $1.99 with the hopes of a SB Ring.

Nnamdi will be released because he sucks - the cap savings is a bonus.

You don't want him, trust me. I suppose it is possible that he regains some form of productivity, but one thing that stood out to me with the Eagles were his incredibly poor ball skills. When a ball is thrown up for grabs and he is in coverage he gets totally lost. He has no idea how to adjust and make a play on the ball, he gets out-muscled by receivers, and gets turned around and confused. He was always out of position to make a play. Letting a receiver post him up and you see him make a futile effort to try to knock the ball away. He was oafy as all get out.

To make matters worse, he looks like he is running in mud when the receivers are running on turf. He looks a step slow on every play, and even his tackling left much to be desired. He whiffed on too many tackles for my liking, and even let the ball carrier drag him yards down field when he did wrap up.

I personally think he is totally shot, but stranger things have happened than a player regaining success.
