View Full Version : Chiefs So who are we drafting at #1 overall again, if we sign Albert and don't trade down?

I don't even want to talk about how much I hate that Alex Smith trade but which player are the Chiefs going to draft if Albert signs?

IMO, there's no way Albert will be moved from LT, so drafting a LT doesn't make sense.

Could Dorsey give us the ultimate insult and draft a 3-4 end ?

I'd love to think the Chiefs will draft Smith with the thinking that either Alex Smith performs greatly and we eventually trade Geno or if Smith falters, we have possibly a future franchise QB in Geno, but really I don't trust Reid and Dorsey at all anymore.

Pretty sure Dorsey wants to trade down but what if we don't??

Curious to see what happens with Star Lotulelei. I think he would be a great pick for the Chiefs if his heart thing turns out to be nothing serious long term.

I still think it'll be Geno, but based on this article, some betting group that I don't know says the odds are over 50% that it'll be Joeckel: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/nfl-rapidreports/21780246/alex-smiths-2013-overunders-released. That's what those odds means, right? I'm not a gambler aside from the occasional Russian Roulette game in southeast Asia.

With Kansas City set at quarterback, Bovada.lv pegs the Chiefs as -300 favorites to take left tackle Luke Joeckel with the No. 1 overall pick. You get 2-to-1 odds (+200) on Kansas City taking anyone else.

Mr. Flopnuts

Milliner.

BPA and fills a position of need. If they can't trade back, and I don't think they'll be able too. They handed all of that leverage to JAX. This is going to be the pick. Bright side is, they go out and sign Byrd in FA, and we probably have the best secondary in the league.

It's absolutely impossible that the Chiefs draft Milliner without a trade down, why would you guys even mention him?

Aren't we hearing about him as a top-five pick now? It doesn't seem unreasonable, even if we're really going to draft Geno Smth.

The 1.1 isn't a soul-crusher like it used to be, so maybe the Chiefs won't be asking for much, and another team like NYJ, Chicago, might be willing to give you some lower draft picks this year or some higher picks next year. There's some possibilities. You won't get premium value, but there's some possibilities.

Chicago might be willing to deal, they want to win NOW, they need OL/OT badly to protect Cutler who they traded a lot for. Your new FO has to get creative, make some sign and trade deals, some multi-team deals.

The only way I can stave off the overwhelming nausea is to think that they still go for Geno Smith and let him have some time behind Smith to learn the playbook and adjust to the speed without getting thrown into the fire.

I still wonder how many times the Chiefs organization has to utterly fail with a QB that SF has chucked into the garbage before they figure out they just need to go out and get their own.
