"rumors are now circulating" ... are you buying this? :spock:

http://www.isportstimes.com/articles/6102/20130301/tim-tebow-trade-rumors-despite-alex-smith-kansas-city-chiefs.htm

The Kansas City Chiefs may have just agreed to a trade with the San Francisco 49ers to get QB Alex Smith, but they may not be done dealing just yet. Even though Alex Smith will clearly be the opening day starter in Kansas City, they are still in need of a backup in case Smith gets hurt. Because of that, rumors are now circulating that Chiefs coach Andy Reid may be interested in Tim Tebow.

Alex Smith lost his starting job in San Francisco due to injury. He may not be injury-prone, but he certainly is no stranger to being sidelined. If that happens, the Kansas City Chiefs desperately need a backup quarterback that will fit their scheme. Tim Tebow could be the perfect quarterback to come into KC and back him up.

The Chiefs cannot expect Alex Smith to throw the football 40 times a game. In fact, they would do best if they built their offense around a running game and let Smith become a game manager. Tim Tebow may not be able to make all of the throws, but he is more than capable of becoming a game manager.

Another problem with the Kansas City Chiefs is their inability to sell tickets and spark interest among the fan base. Kansas City was not very excited to hear that their team traded for Alex Smith, but trading for Tim Tebow would almost certainly help the team sell some tickets.

Not only does a Tim Tebow to the Kansas City Chiefs trade make sense, it would also be risk-free for Andy Reid. The New York Jets do not want anything to do with Tebow which means the Chiefs will be able to get him for a very low draft pick. KC could probably get him for a seventh or sixth round draft pick.

If the Chiefs give up draft picks for Alex Smith and Tebow, it's clear the NFL is trying to make the team such a laughingstock that Hunt is forced to sell it to someone that will move it to LA.

The difference is alex smith is a football player who adds value by limiting turnovers, even if the team overpaid, tim tebow is just a ****ing side show.

I don't think the Chiefs are coming to LA anytime soon. I think the Jags are the front runners. The Chargers and Rams could also be in play.

Even though the chiefs aren't getting a lot of support right now, there are a lot of people in town that give a shit about the chiefs. I think that plus they are an old storied franchise keeps them from moving. You could move the Jags, and 5 years from now people will forget they ever played in Jacsonville. The LA Chiefs, that doesn't make any sense anyway.

I'd be okay trading Cassel for Tebow and then moving him to H-back/emergency QB.

And hey - the media would actually talk about the Chiefs.

Alex is non functional moving to his left and Tim Tebow is left handed. Having that threat of a pass to the left could open things up a little.

A lot of stuff would have to go right for this to work though. Tebow would have to learn to play H-back well. Just because he has the build for it, doesn't mean he has the skills, mentality, or even desire. Another thing is you don't actually have tebow throw the ball much, it is just about the threat of the throw. Just run and run him until the guy is so open even tebow can't miss him. I dunno if it would work, but just the chance of it working is more valuable to the chiefs than Cassel.

The only way Tebow can be useful is at the ten or closer. He needs to come off his " I am a QB" bs. If he is under center at the fifty any team is doomed. I really dont want him here.

Tebow has more ****ing playoff wins than KC has in the past 20 years. I wont knock it too much lol even though he has 0 chance of playing and being successful again

Look...we drafted him and I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Our 2010 draft was better than 2009 so I was feeling better about the team. All I heard from a billion media sources was that he was working really hard on his QB skills. We had the lockout and I figured that the missed camp time would hurt him. No big deal, give the kid some time. So it's been a few years now and he just never got better. You can dig into the multiple possibilities of why he didn't get better but it comes down to this: Either he hasn't worked at it as hard as they say, or he just isn't going to get better.

With that being said, it was our Defense that was responsible for the AFC West title and it was our Head Coach's dogged conservatism that got us that playoff win. The 80 yard TD in OT was awesome. Bear in mind that it was a simple shallow crossing pattern to a gifted WR. The season as a whole was a great ride, and I enjoyed it as a Bronco fan. But don't pretend that the rest of the team didn't bust their asses off for 60(+) minutes week in and week out to make those two to five minute stretches of "Tebow Time" possible. And don't pretend that PITT wasn't limping into that game. If they'd given Rapistburger those horse tranqs in the first Q instead of at the half it could have very easily ended differently.

Joe Flacco Rumors: Cleveland Browns To Steal QB From Baltimore Ravens?

Joe Flacco is on top of the world right now. He just won the Super Bowl and was named the game's Most Valuable Player. Since the Baltimore Ravens refused to pay him in the regular season, Flacco enters the NFL offseason as the No. 1 free agent in the world. That means he basically gets to name is own price while tons of teams beg for his services.
Most people believe that he will remain with the Baltimore Ravens whether they pay him or even if they have to franchise him while they work out a deal. However, if the Ravens franchise him, Flacco would be dumb to sign his tender and ever report for the season until they either trade him or show him the money. That would likely give other teams an opportunity to deal for Flacco's services.
Follow Us :
One NFL team rumored to be heavily interested in Joe Flacco is the Baltimore Ravens big rival, The Browns are reportedly willing to break bank and even give away the house for Joe Flacco if need be.
The Cleveland Browns are a very young football team, but they have a ton of undeveloped talent. They lack a quarterback and most importantly, they lack a strong leader. Some would say that if Joe Flacco joined the Cleveland Browns in 2013, they would easily make the playoffs.
The Browns have a very strong running game and a couple of deep threats at the wide receiver position. Offensively, they are built very similar to the current Baltimore Ravens' offense except the Browns are younger and hungrier. Everyone in Cleveland believes they are just one quarterback away from Super Bowl contention.
Will the Cleveland Browns actually end up with Joe Flacco? We highly doubt it. But if the Baltimore Ravens are unwilling to pay the man his money, then the Cleveland Browns will become Flacco's No. 1 option.

I'll say this, TT's strength is throwing the deep ball. He's not a game manager, dink and dunker. So from that perspective he's almost a better fit for Reid's offense than Smith.

Alex Smith is a dink and dunk QB, he's a game manager. If he's got talent around him, he can be good. He does better with a legit running game. The thing is, Reid loves to pass the ball. He does not like to run the ball much. The question is, will this help or hinder Alex Smith?

Well, just look at TT's release. He throws the ball like a javelin, not a dart. So he's widely innacurate on short to medium passes but fairly good on the deep stuff. I know, it's wierd but TT is not your typical QB. He's more like a MLBer playing QB.

I'm not saying TT is a good QB, I'm saying that if he does throw the ball, his best throws are deep balls. Yes, he's very inaccurate when it comes to every other bread and butter throw in the NFL, but on deep passes, he does ok.

He is terrible at throwing in all phases. He should play TE.

being that I watched most if not all his games, I agree to an extent. He does suck throwing the ball and he will never be an NFL QB. But when he does throw the ball, his best throws are the deep stuff.

Only Denver is dumb enough to play him at QB.

That doesn't make any sense. It's like saying "That basketball player is great shooting from half court, but he can't make any 3 pointers or layups."

it actually does
he cant complete short or intermediate passes because he cant read defenses and set his feet to deliver accurate passes

What he can do though is the scramble drill
Just run around and chuck it deep

In that regard the deep ball is the only thing he can do that resembles nfl qb play

ROFL That is awesome.

So you're on the Tebow bandwagon? Sweet. Let me know how that works out for you.

Gotta be a joke, but he probably will land somewhere as at least a 3rd stringer. I suppose sense Quinn will be gone and maybe even Stanzi this would be a likely spot.

Why does it matter who the backup QB is, really? If your starter goes down for more than a game or two, your season is over anyway. Probably not going to happen, but if it does, who cares? You guys are always bitching KC gets no ESPN airtime...Tebow would be the answer to that.

You better be trolling, I've given out more neg rep in the last couple of days than I have in my entire 12 years here.

Ah, some of those just look like good throws because the receiver has enough time to find the ball and run to wherever it's going.

It still pisses me off to no end to think that Denver drafted Tebow in the first round and they are still a successful franchise to this day. There is no football god.

FWIW, there are also rumors that Oakland was interested in Tebow. Hey, I'd take him as a running back.

If you guys get Tebow, you really need to start a boycott or somthing. Not only will you have traded way too much for a game manager, you will be inviting the circus into town.

Before you know it, Smith will have a three int game and take 8 sacks and you'll have the teebow talk start almost instantaniously. lol

TT's strength is throwing the deep ball.

Ron Jaworski's take on Tebow's deep ball:

"The concern I still have is the deeper throws, where the ball loses energy at the end of the throw," said Jaworski, who shared his thoughts with Tebow on national television.

"He knows he needs to work on driving the football off that back leg, keeping a small, compact base and not getting elongated where you can't snap those hips.

Jaworski said a passer's weight must be on his back foot at the top of his drop but that Tebow's tendency is to have his weight too far forward, costing him extended zip. "It's those deep throws where you have to bring your weight forward, drive your hips through and drive your body toward your target," he said.

Also, Tebow "has a tendency to pick the back foot up. It's like a pitcher pushing off that rubber; you have to drive off that."
