How bout this guy?
Former UNI Player.
Bring him in for a look?

Don't Q me.

MINNEAPOLIS — Terrell Sinkfield knew he was fast. The stopwatches timing his 40-yard dash Monday at the University of Minnesota's pro day said he was fast, too.

Almost too fast to believe.

Sinkfield, a former wide receiver at Northern Iowa, clocked in at 4.19 seconds in his second attempt in the 40-yard dash. That's faster than the NFL Combine record of 4.24 seconds, set by Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson in 2008.

So how on earth did Sinkfield do it?

"Just some determination," Sinkfield said. "That was the expectation, really. Aim big. I was trying to get that 4.1."

Because of his blazing speed on his second attempt, the 6-foot-1 Sinkfield was asked to run it one more time, something none of the other players did Monday. Despite a slight stumble, he still clocked in at 4.41 seconds.

Combined with his first attempt of 4.27 seconds, Sinkfield averaged a 4.33 despite his stumble in his third attempt. But it was his time of 4.19 that created plenty of buzz Monday at the Gophers' practice facility.

"I knew it was good when I finished," Sinkfield said of his 4.19. "I was pretty happy, so I came back. I thought I messed up when they said go again. I'm like, ‘Dang, why do I have to run again?'"

As a senior at Northern Iowa, Sinkfield led the Panthers in receiving with 43 catches for 499 yards and four touchdowns. His junior season, the speedy Sinkfield had 28 catches for 464 yards and six touchdowns.

Sinkfield wasn't highly recruited out of Hopkins (Minn.) High School, where he played running back. He was also a sprinter for the Hopkins track team and ran the 100-yard dash in 10.86 seconds.

His speed wasn't enough to draw many Division I offers. His hometown Gophers weren't interested, so he committed to Northern Iowa. Monday, he was at the school that didn't want him and turned plenty of heads in the process as scouts from 13 NFL teams were in attendance.

"It hasn't really hit me yet," said Sinkfield, who also had a 40.5 inch vertical at Monday's pro day. "I feel like I could have hit it consistently. Me, myself, my personal best, I think I could have done better. It was still a good show here."

After flying under the radar in high school and then at small Northern Iowa, Sinkfield came to Monday's pro day with something to prove.

"I just feel like I deserved to be playing here," Sinkfield said of Minnesota. "It was kind of like a dream to play for the Gophers growing up. I pretty much came here with a chip on my shoulder. It was pretty much the plan since high school that I was going to come here (to the pro day) and steal the show. …

"Hopefully I opened some eyes and got some interest."

Former Gophers quarterback MarQueis Gray shares the same agent with Sinkfield, and the two have been working out together prior to Monday's pro day. Gray said he wasn't shocked in the least by Sinkfield's eye-popping 40 time.

"I already knew what it was going to be," Gray said. "I see it every day. None of that stuff surprises me."

If dude were running a legit 4.19 his 100 time would be closer to 10 flat or high 9.9's. 10.86 does not equal 4.19. He's probably a 4.3/4.4 guy IRL.

He needs to work on his endurance.

It makes for a great headline: An unheralded prospect from a small school showed up at Minnesota’s Pro Day and turned in a 40-yard dash that was faster than anyone has ever run at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Unfortunately, you’d have to be a fool to believe it.

According to FOX Sports North, Northern Iowa receiver was timed at 4.19 seconds in the 40, which would break Chris Johnson’s Combine record of 4.24 seconds. Sinkfield said afterward that that’s what he was aiming for.

“That was the expectation, really. Aim big. I was trying to get that 4.1,” Sinkfield said.

But come on. If someone timed Sinkfield at 4.19 seconds, that means someone had an itchy trigger finger on his stopwatch. Does anyone seriously believe that Sinkfield, who has no major track and field accomplishments beyond high school, is faster than Broncos return man Trindon Holliday, who won the NCAA 100-meter dash title? That’s what you’d have to believe if you believe Sinkfield ran a 4.19-second 40. Sinkfield caught 43 passes for 499 yards and four touchdowns in his senior season, and his longest catch of the year was 32 yards. Does anyone seriously believe that a guy who can run a 4.19-second 40 would only average 11.6 yards a catch, only score four touchdowns and never break one longer than 32 yards against Division I-AA competition? If Sinkfield ran a 4.19-second 40, then I had a 4.0 GPA.

Fortunately, we don’t only have to rely on this one dubious stopwatch for Sinkfield’s 40 time. Scott Studwell, the Vikings’ director of college scouting, was also timing Sinkfield and told the Pioneer Press that Sinkfield is fast, but he didn’t break 4.3 seconds in any of his three 40-yard dash attempts.

“He ran in the high 4.3s. He can run. He ran fast. He tested well,” Studwell said.

Good for Sinkfield for running in the high 4.3s. That’s a great time, a time that will get him noticed by NFL teams. Only 11 players at the Scouting Combine were in the high 4.3s or faster.

But the reports of the 4.19 are a good reminder that Pro Day numbers aren’t always what they’re cracked up to be. When you hear a Pro Day number that sounds like it couldn’t possibly be true, don’t believe the hype.

Manti Teo says he can run faster than a 4.81 & he will prove it when he runs his imaginary pro day event.

Rennie at qb really hurt his production. That being said, sinkfield should have put up much bigger numbers last year. I love uni players in the league, but I don't really see sinkfield making it.

Sustaining that speed is what separates people like Bolt from NFL speedsters.
