Experimental Sodas?

Went to my local grocer yesterday. They had specials on some "10 calorie" sodas I hadn't seen before. I've tried Dr. Pepper 10 and like it a lot. They had RC Cola 10, Canada Dry Ginger Ale 10 and A&W Root Beer 10. I tried the RC, it seemed to go flat right out of the can. No carbonation is bad for a cola. The A&W Root Beer was much better, Creamy, foamy and tasted good for a diet soda. Haven't tried the Ginger Ale yet.

Have you seen this in your store? RC doesn't even mention it on their website. They have "RC Zero" but not "RC 10." It comes in a silver can.

Well, if the soda tastes more like the real thing, and it's only 10 calories, I can live with that. Better flavor for just nine more calories. Unless the sweetener chemical turns me into a giant tumor in five years....

RC was my favorite when I used to drink full sugar soda. I'll definitely give it a try. The 10 calorie root beer also sounds promising.

I don't know if I got a bad 12 pack or what, but I thought the RC 10 was not good. It just poured out of the can practically flat. No fizz. I like fizz like you get with real Coke or Pepsi.

Oh, and the same grocery carries "Mexican" Coke, Pepsi and Fanta in bottles, all made with sugar. So you can get the really sugared up stuff if you want, too.

RC is pretty much good 'chilled' out of the two liter - but it's shelf-life is about .5 days. Then it needs to get tossed. Actually - I like RC - but my complaint is the same as yours. Yes the DP10 is pretty good - But i've been off the soda for a while now - I didn't entirely give it up - but I cut way WAY down on it. When I was into it, Pepsi Throwback super chilled was my favorite.

When I was in Peru I had part of a bottle of Inca Kola Zero. There's a reason why it wasn't a whole bottle. Blech.
