There are a lot of foodies on this board... we have subforums for DC, pictures, and media, should we have one for food and drink? I think so...

I hear that I just had an awesome ham steak with eggs, toast and fresh fruit. Today is off to a great start.

You must be a steak and gravy fan.

There's a pretty good chance that if there was a food and drink subforum, I'd make that my home forum on mobile...

I also find that locating certain threads can be very difficult.

I wouldn't be opposed to the media and draft subforums being moved back to the lounge. When stuff gets posted over there people don't see it as quickly and discussion is supressed. Besides, what is a lounge without food?

The problem isn't necessarily search, it's that fucking 60-second wait between searches.

I like seeing the food and drink threads pop up in the main forum. Having an archive location for them after a certain amount of time might be helpful for search purposes, but I like the idea of a mainboard that has a broad appeal rather than a small focus.

Just my take

I like the variety of the lounge, I don't like having to visit 4+ sub forums to find everything I'm interested in.

Official food thread, IMO.

Meh, I voted no. IMHO the lounge has always been a success because we have such a wide variety of topics to discuss, (especially during the offseason). Not to mention that if you just want to see a particular subject, you can search by thread description anyway...
i.e. Food and Drink, Family, Chiefs, Royals etc. etc.

I voted yes, but I'm cool with it how it is.

I often use google to find stuff on chiefsplanet for that very reason. Also including multiple search terms are treated as "ands" instead of "ors".

Agree. The more segmentation, the less interesting and more like any other football message board this becomes.

Of course, I'd go even further and re-merge DC too.

Thread prefixes are enough to filter for stuff you really want to see at any given time so segmentation isn't even particularly useful anymore in that way.

From what I've seen, having D.C. is more about segmenting the posters than the topics.

I don't understand why some feel the need to sub forum this place to death.

It was ONLY supposed to be politics, and now we are up to what, four different ones? Variety of discussion is what keeps this board active year round. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Subforums are best reserved for topics that would over run the front page. TV show threads that are constantly bumping, etc.

Food threads run their course and then go away, barring occasional bumps.

Don't fuck with the Media Center...I realize there are a few people who don't realize anything outside the lounge exists, but the Media Center sub forum is a lot busier than some of the main forums I post on.

However, combining the Media Center and the DC might be pretty sweet.

I agree, though I gave up that battle long ago.

I have to say the BB's focus on the draft this year is more focused in comparison to other years which BS threads dominated which made the draft forum necessary. If this trend keeps up through the regular season then DraftPlanet can be 86ed permanently.

Though it will be on the shoulders of the BB members to keep that interest up because many members want to ignore draft prospect targets citing "that it's too early to talk about the draft." IMO, for DraftPlanet to gone their shouldn't be apathy about the draft during the regular season.

I do think that we should (and probably will) enforce using the casino planet subforum this year for all the 'Rate My Fantasy Team' threads. That shit gets really old, really quick. I'm fairly sure nobody gives two shits about your fantasy teams.

Well, those of us that have discovered vagina, anyway.

We moderate most of the subforums-lounge threads fairly loosely, (except DC stuff).

Example: 'Caption' threads, etc.
I do dislike seeing a million threads every August regarding the same shit, "Who would you pick, How about this trade?" Blah blah blah...

bevischief

Well, part of the issue with food topics for someone like FMB may be that they can be restarted weeks/months/years later, and this board doesn't really work for that outside of searches, where word choice is essential. That's why I suggested the archive idea.
