Swedish students have a 'delightful tradition' of screaming called Anxiety Scream (Ångestskriket) together at Lappkärrsberget aka "Lappis" - a residential area in Norra Djurgården in central-eastern Stockholm, Sweden, located just north of the Stockholm University, it is known for the approximately 2,000 student flats located there.
“This happens at the student dorms - A tradition of letting off ...steam by screaming at specific hours, usually once a week,” Every tuesday at 10 pm everyone in the student complex in Stockholm open their windows and scream for several minutes.
It is not known when the tradition started, but it is generally believed that it began as a reaction to the stress caused by university exams.
