We got Stanzi in the fifth and he had a couple of years of watching Matt Cassel. I think that has moved him down to undrafted free agent status.

If I was interested in Mallet and they tried to serve that crap line, I would just point out Mark Castle.

Sometimes it works out (Favre) and sometimes it doesn't (Cassel).

The other factor is that Mallett came out in a QB-heavy draft, comparatively speaking (though most of those taken int hat draft have been mediocre), whereas this is a very QB light draft. Had Mallett been coming out this year, he might've been taken much higher than he was in '11.

Main thing is Pats seem to feel they have what others can't easily get in the draft, so they're going to try to get a higher price. May work out, may not.
