Tom Pendergast's Ward Parkway home is up for sale at just under $4 million. Are you listening Eric Fisher???

If you don't know who Tom Pendergast was, he was the political boss of KC in the 1920's to the 1940's. He's the guy who put Harry Truman in politics.

He was KC's version of Chicago's Mayor Richard Daley before Mayor Daley existed.

Cool house: Check the pictures!

80 year old house with a 2 car garage for 4 mil?

Not even if I had that kind of dough. I guess the owner history must be of some value, as I have seen homes for 1/2 that price much nicer.

Depends on where you live, it's a bargain compared to comparable homes on the coasts.

It's the location. Kind of like spending $25 million for a New York City condo. The old money of KC live in that area. It's really accessible to the city without being in the city. The adjacent area on the Kansas side is also pricey. Back in the day the people that wouldn't put up with the KC corruption moved a mile west. The Kansas side became popular because of it. Ewing Kauffman, the Block family (H&R Block), Russell Stover (candy), the Disney family, the Kohl family (Hemingway wrote most of For Whom the Bell Tolls in their guest house... you'd be proud of a house like that!), the Talge family (Rival, Crock Pot, Seal-a-meal)... ah, too many more to list. It's an awesome area.

Mission Hills, where the beer flows like wine and minorities are pulled over before they even cross the state line.

The KCMO cop-thugs are much more worrisome than Mission Hills. Mission Hills doesn't have a police department.

I was just curious. Nobody cruises MH. There's not a straight road in 98% of the city. State Line and Mission Rd. don't count. Tomahawk is a speed trap. The rest of it is cul-de-sacs, two blocks of straight side-street followed by a curved road that becomes a dead end.

It's also the fact that all those huge houses in south overland park are made out of balsa wood and about as original as Clay quoting PFF for the bajillionth time.

Not to be meticulous, but it should be “French Provincial architectural design, not "French Provencial architectural design."

It you are going to advertise a $3,950,000 house online at least get the spelling right.

It would be lucky to get 2.5. houses like that are the hardest to sell, very small percent of buyers have that kind of money and if they do they will build their own. As someone else stated a two car garage the price is a huge diterrant.

Show the agent the mistake on that Dylan, better yet show the typo to the seller they will love it.
