Chip Kelly has been busy revolutionizing the Philadelphia Eagles. I think it was Lenin who said all revolutions have casualties. The first casualty in Chip Kelly's revolution was Mexican cuisine. Kelly banned "Taco Tuesdays," a staple of the Andy Reid regime (why are you laughing?). It's all protein shakes everything up in Philadelphia now. The second casualty was music. The whole thing. Music is dead. Chip killed it.

What a great way to start out as head coach.

This does sound pretty familiar. Is he going to go postal over a candy wrapper next?

I suspect the Eagles are going to find out that hiring a head coach who never played in the NFL and has never even been an assistant coach in the NFL is a pretty risky proposition.

I think so. People move to music it creates a jive in the soul so him taking that away only hurts his players motivation.

i find it hard to believe there is no music in a locker room or weight room or guys that use music to study playbooks, etc

pretty much a driving motivator, i think all teams facilities let the players jam music

hell i have never been to a gym that never has had music playing.

there's no way he eliminates that lol

Not to be stereotypical but black people and music go hand in hand. That's a horribad idea. And in general players use music to amp themselves up for a game. Now unless he meant music as in music that can be heard by everyone then that's fine. They all can afford Ipods and stuff to personally listen to it before games. It's probably not banned for personal music devices.

I remember when one place that I worked at banned music all of the sudden after we always had music going. Corporate ****s came in and decided listening to the radio might hurt productivity since he saw a couple of happy employees singing along.

Then a guy was whistling a song and he immediately stopped the whistling.

It made us really hate our jobs even more.

First they came for Michael Vick, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't Michael Vick

First they came for the Tacos, and I didn't speak out because Mexican food makes me gassy

Then they came for the Music, and I didn't speak out because I work better in an environment without distractions

Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me

Exactly. I would have hated anybody that came after Andy but I find this chump particularly detestable. The Philly fans already worship him.

The guy is a clown and I hope he fails but there is so much talent on the Eagles offense that it is hard to see them not winning at least 8 games though.

Seems pretty stupid. Sure, some players might be somewhat overweight, but most need a ton of calories. Why kill off a team hangout event? I would love to hear the actual explanation for it.

As usual on the Planet, nobody read the actual article.

He didn't stop or kill music. He changed the playlist to something he likes.

And for a coach that is expected to run a high tempo offense people are surprised he wants them eating healthy instead of junk food?

Eagles' Red Meat Story Untrue, Overblown
Published May 18, 2013
By Walter Cherepinsky - @walterfootball

It was reported by certain outlets last week that Chip Kelly banned red meat and the beloved Taco Tuesdays from the Eagles' cafeteria. I've spoken to a reliable source who told me those reports aren't completely true.

"There's still red meat there, and they even served fried chicken the day after the report was made," the source told me.

Also, there are stacks of delicious cookies still available that the players take by the handful. My source wasn't sure if the Taco Tuesday report was accurate or not, though he did inform me that many were bummed out when they initially heard the news/rumor.

Having said that, Kelly is definitely trying to help the players be more mindful of their diet. The spoons in the cafeteria now say what serving size they are. Kelly is also making sure that the players have as much information as possible about maintaining a good diet.

Even stuff as simple as that is a much radical change from what Reid used to do. My source told me that Reid would bring countless boxes of Popeye's fried chicken on plane rides and hand them out to the players.

"I didn't get an exact number," my source said when I asked him how many boxes of fried chicken Reid brought aboard the plane. "I think he got a box for everybody."

I read somewhere that chip mentioned there is science behind the playlist. I believe something to do with the tempo. The taco thing is no surprise with chip wanting to bring more diet awareness to the team. The personalized shakes and what not might seem silly but all this stuff could go either way. We laugh at this right now but Kelly might be the next innovator of the nfl. You either innovate or imitate. It will be interesting watching how this plays out. If it works expect copycats.

They're mmm mmm good. Great drunk food too btw.

Given the amount of calories these athletes burn when they are actively working, Bob Dole has a hard time believing there is any harm in a Taco Tuesday.

That said, any new leader will change some traditions established by the previous regime, even to the point of simply changing the name of something.

As long as it's real and lean beef, fresh real veggies as toppings, it's probably healthier than most meals they eat. of course I'm not talking quantity, but like what the Bob Dole says, they burn so much energy it's not gonna matter. Fisher could gain some extra lbs too to be honest.
