lol I've never done any actual farming. Closest thing I've done to it is slaughter turkeys and split wood at my uncle's place over in Iowa.

there is something about a freshly plowed field smell I like

and you can axctually see you accomplished something when you are done

do they still make falstaff?

Bugeater

The Falstaff brewery here closed like 20 years ago, I think it's still made elsewhere though. Haven't seen any for years.

I've been to both Churchill Manitoba and Cheyenne Wyoming on business. They're just as "beautiful" as Nebraska and I have no plans to ever go to either destination ever again.
No offense, of course. I'm sure it's exhilarating to grow up in such "beautiful" surroundings, but forgive me for not seeing why Nebraska is "beautiful".
Perhaps, if I'd been forced to sing "Beautiful Nebraska" everyday in school, I too might be more sentimental towards this particular pile of dirt. :)

LMAO I'm not sentimental to this place at all. If I didn't live here I sure as hell would never come here.

Although Wyoming is a bigger wasteland than Nebraska is.

Then this one when I hit high school. Gave Bugs a cab ride or two on this one

Moved here in '84 on what seemed like just another stop for my dad, who was in AAFES (Armed Forces Exchange Service). We moved all over the place, lived in Germany, Spain, back in Germany, and when he got orders to Offutt AFB in Omaha NE...I was like...where?

Now, I would NEVER leave. Did all my growing up here. The winters can really suck. The summers can really suck. The state is friggin' huge and to drive it across from Omaha to Scottsbluff gets boring. But you go from the city to the old west in this state, and to the north is the sandhills and the Niobrara River up in Valentine. There are cornfields and canyons, and I don't know that you can get all the different vistas that you see in Nebraska in any other state. Probably but whatever.

I personally love this state. I consider myself a Nebraska native. Raised here since the age of 14, raised my family here and I have deep roots. Yep, I'll die in Nebraska, unapologetically. I found a place where I can feel comfortable, I enjoy the lifestyle and the people (for the most part).

Haters gonna hate. There is no place like Nebraska.

Yep. I'm the PA announcer for them actually. Went up to Sioux City a few weeks ago and tailgated before the game. Walked around and talked to a bunch of Bandit fans. After some good natured ribbing, we all agreed...at least we are Husker fans...HA!

Sioux City is in the running for the championship again, their only losses have come to the Beef. Next couple of weeks should be pretty interesting. They have Wichita this weekend, the 1st place team. So I'm all GO BANDITS! This week anyway...

That's cool. You have probably ran into Curtis then? He also has a radio show here on 620 from 4-6 that covers local sports. Heard about the losses to the Beef on there. I don't follow it at all really. I do know tho that this is a tougher league & if they can pull it off it would be a good deal. Also, thanks for coming to Sioux City!

No worries. Hey, seriously, you should try to go to a couple of games. Pretty cheap entertainment and you get your football fix in the doldrums between the SB and pre season. And, it's actually pretty good football. the competition in this league is better this year than before (Beef just started in this league). We've played the Bandits for years until they left the old league and joined this one. 3 other teams followed suit, so it's pretty competitive now.

Football fix? From chiefs football? ROFL

Yeah I know - just never seem to go. If we meet up in the playoffs or something & you are coming to SC for the game, let me know. I'd probably go.

Won't happen this year due to seeding, but there's always next year. I always go up for the Sioux City games, so I'll let you know.
