If you're counting, I say Jamaal Charles leads the team in receiving TD. With the blockers he has up front, he should be able to turn screen passes into scores at a healthy clip.

People do realize that it's pretty tough to get 10+ TDs for a WR in a season, yeah?
It's tough to do even for some really great WRs in the league. Andre Johnson has only done it like, what? Once or twice? Same goes for Larry Fitz.
Bowe can have an extremely productive year and catch under 10 TDs
-King-
05-23-2013, 07:06 PM
Yeah I don't think people realize how hard it is to get touchdowns even for the best WRs.

Smith will get those numbers easily if he stays healthy.
Charles will get those numbers easily as he is more integrated in the pass game.
Bowe will get those numbers as he will be the primary target. Period.
DMC will get the yards, but not the TDs.
Baldwin, this is tricky, I think he will get the yards, but no way he gets the TDs.
Kelce- Nope.
DL won't get that many sacks if they are depending on Devito and Jackson to get them.
Houston/Hali will get a lot of sacks, but I doubt 25 between them. Low 20s is pretty possible.
Berry won't get 4 INTs unless they move him to FS; if they do, however, 4 INTs is a gimme and I will take the over.

On the DL thing:
DeVito isn't any more of an upgrade from Dorsey. In fact, it's probably a downgrade, since Dorsey just might have been an okay gap-penetrator in this scheme.
It's just such a huge question mark. We could project success for Poe, but even in an attacking 3-4, it's tough for some of the best NTs to get more than 3 sacks, which is absolutely necessary if we want to crack 10 as a unit. Jackson can't be trusted to account for more than 1 or 2. After that, we're down to what... Bailey? Powe? Whichever other slapdick backup we signed? Dixon I think?
I don't see it happening unless Poe takes a huge step forward. We need at least 5 sacks out of him to meet the goal of 10 I think.

I'm anxious to see what Allen Bailey can do in this defense. He's very quick and very strong for his size. The guy ran a 4.77 and he's built like a rock.
The bad news is that he played in the same attacking style plays on obvious passing under Romeo and he didn't do much at all.
I'm gonna go with the under.

I'm hoping for:
Smith-25 TDs, 3000+ yds. Only 8 INTs (Hope he only is sacked about 36 times at the most)
Charles-1600 yds 8 TDs, 400 YDS REC 3 TDs
Bowe 1400 YDS 11 TDs
Defense
Somehow get 43 sacks as a whole with 15 INTs
Hali-13 sacks
Houston-15 sacks
DJ-5 sacks
Other rush back up LBs-3 sacks
Dline-5 sacks (wishful thinking, I know)
Secondary-5 sacks
Flowers-6 INTs
Smith-3 INTs
Berry-3 INTs
DJ-2 INTs
Other guys with 1 INT like Dunta, Lewis, etc)
I'm probably crazy hoping for this but we'll see. The defense is the key. I'm not thinking Super Bowl or anything but Super Bowl defenses usually have 43 sacks. We need more than 6 guys sacking the QB. I know Baltimore and San Fran only had 37, 38 sacks respectively but we need to be closer to 45 sacks with the way our offense will be run. We have to force teams to turn the ****ing ball over a lot.

some interesting things to ponder.
Alex Smith was on pace for 24 TD's and just over 3,300 yards in a far more conservative offense. Will a lot more passes get him to that level? (I think so)
DMC has already accomplished 500 all-purpose yards before in his career. Not TD's though.
Baldwin is an all bark and no bite pussy until proven otherwise.
Kelce will be playing A LOT and will be targeted A LOT. Reid uses his TE's, Alex Smith sure all he does too and the guy is pretty damn fast for a big TE. He's definitely gonna get a lot of chances to get the ball.
Houston/Tamba had 19 combined sacks with one of them missing a game and the entire goddamn offense screwing them over by not getting a lead for the first half of the season.
Also, Charles is a BAMF. But we already knew that.
