My friend is getting married and I asked him what he wanted... he said good tequila. My budget is 100.00 bucks. What ya got??

Unless your friend has a taste for the finer things in life he would probably enjoy 10 bottles of the cheap shit instead of one bottle of the expensive stuff.

Just a hunch.

Well if he drinks total swill I'd get him a bottle of Patron and a bottle of 1800 Silver and call it good.

I like a good bottle of wine. If I'm buying it at the story my top end is about 34 buck. Now I have a friend who is a wine snob, and frankly I can't tell the difference between my 34 dollar wine and his really expensive shit.

Now, when we were in Napa last fall and decided to drink a bottle of 83 Opus One and chased it with the 85, I could tell I was drinking something special. The tab at the end of the night confirmed it was special too.

I need something he's never seen. I need WOW factor. I need him to know he's my boy and I'll at least buy him a good bottle of tequila. (I'm not loaded or I'd buy them something really nice)

May be true, we are working with what we have.

I can say I was in Mexico last summer and had some fine tequila. Not much better than Julio though.

there's nothing, I mean NOTHING worse than cheap tequila. NOTHING. If there's one liquor I'm gonna spend money on, it's tequila. There's a reason tequila is tequila, and that's because it tastes like tequila.

Patron is owned by the owner of Paul Mitchell hair shampoo. Shit is ultimately a marketing trap for shit ass tequila. Don Julio is the bomb. any of it. Others have their places but I totally only recommend Don Julio.

No Tequila has a worm in it. Some Mezcals do, however.

All tequillas ARE mezcals.

Mezcals are any agave-based liquor, and therefore tequila is a subset of mezcal produced in specific regions of Mexico and made only from the Blue Agave. Tequila is made in 5 specific regions: Jalisco, Michoacan, Guanajuato, Nayarit, and Tamaulipas.

Casa Noble is another good one that's priced under Don Julio, Patron, etc.

I had a friend from Oaxaca that used to make a salt and spice mix that we'd take a pinch of with our mezcal. It was incredible. There are good mezcals out there, and good ways to drink mezcal.
