Dude. She loves baseball. She's a Brewers fan though however as she is from Wisconsin.

She's being converted into a Royals fan though.

And she's also learning about incoming KU basketball players coming in. So, I think she should get the TV for one hour out of one hundred and sixty eight.

Unnecessary pitching change. Glad it worked out OK.

Peralta is only slightly better against lefties than righties (.040 difference in OPS).

Meanwhile, you've got Collins in there, who has still limited RHB to a sub .700 OPS.

Bullpen looks good tonight. Good to see. Really, as deep as our pen is and given how sharp they were last year with a larger workload, we should consider moving to a four-man rotation consisting of Shields/Guts/Duffy/Mendy and move Davis back to the pen. Deal Santana to restock the farm a little bit or as a piece to acquire a legit corner outfielder/second basemen.

He's damn good, but if you look at what Soria did in 2008 and 2010, it's pretty unbelievable.

Soria's 2008, he put up a 270 ERA+. He wasn't quite the strikeout artist Holland is, but he had a couple of seasons that were even more dominant.

There was a period of about 2 years where I was surprised when Soria allowed a base runner. Holland is a great closer, but he's had his moments of inconsistency with his command this season.

Okay, the Royals gotta be third on that list.

Last year KC had 131 HRs, which was 26th out of 30 teams. We're tied for last with the Marlins this year, on pace for about 81 HRs total. It's especially pathetic being behind all the NL teams, considering we have the advantage of a DH over a pitcher.

Holland has nasty stuff. I don't know why fans underestimate him. He struck out over 90 guys last year. I don't think Soria ever did that. He has 35 K in 23 IP this year... if he gets enough chances he might make a run at 100.

I think Holland's raw stuff is actually better.

He throws harder, and his slider is more of a wipeout pitch than Soria's hook was (because Holland is a bit more consistent with it and it is more effective against LH hitters). The splitter is also unfair when paired with the mid-90s heat and the slider. All three pitches come out with the same arm speed and are tough to distinguish from one another.

Let's put it this way. Coming into tonight there were only 4 pitchers in baseball who had pitched at least 20 IP and had a higher K/9 rate than Holland. Aroldis Chapman, Andrew Miller, Jason Grilli and Shawn Kelley. Grilli is the only one of those guys with a lower ERA than Holland... and Grilli leads the league in saves and will probably make the All-Star team.
