View Full Version : Food and Drink 4th of July food porn thread

When I created this thread it was about posting your menu from the 4th of July along with pictures. I'll post pics of some dishes I made along with recipes if asked to do so. Many people like recipes, but I'm a fan of pictures and showing off good looking food. A recipe doesn't do justice without a picture IMO.

Hopefully we can get this thread rockin with some great looking dishes.

We purchased a taco truck :-/

This will be our first year with no bbq and I'm kinda sad. I guess this guy who comes out makes really good tacos. I don't know how it works, he paid $350 for him to come out. I'm kinda interested in how they taste. Beer and mini tacos are awesome.

Some of the best tacos I've ever had have come from a taco truck.

I'm trying to decide if I want to drop $350 on combo gas grill, charcoal grill, and smoker. The decision should be easy, but I'll have to mod it some to make it more proficient.

It's always been my experience that any device that can do multiple things can't do any one of them really well.

BBQ Baked beans...the old KC Masterpiece recipe from the back of the old bottles. There are apples, onions, raisins in this BBQ bean dish and it's amazing.

Corn on the cobb

Sirloin steak cuts from Costco

Shrimp kabobs

Egg salad and potato salad

hashbrown cheesy potato casserole

jalapeno cheddar brats

Garden fresh cherry tomatoes, green onions, baby carrots with a homemade spicy ranch my cousin makes

Brownie sheet cake, rice krispie squares

Lots of beer and weed

Having some relatives we don't see often in town, and my family did a little more than usual.

Sautéed onions

I am not averse to sautéed onions, but summer is for fresh sliced Vidalias. There should be a 'whites after Labor Day' rule regarding that.

My personal choice?

Mayo, Field Greens, Vine-on Tomato Slice, Vidalia Slice, Bleu Cheese Crumble, Pepper Bacon.

If there's an Avacado Slice around, . . . I'm allow it.

That said, you set one of those in front of me and that sucker is GONE. Nice work.

Already got my Mojito Chicken Breasts ready, thinking about trying these out. I have some Asian sauce I already know is perfect for grilled green beans.

Yeah, when I read this this afternoon, I was like 'if a professional food truck is known for their tacos, you sop that shit up and say thank you may I have another.'

As good as BBQ can be, spicing and cooking taco meats is it's own art form.

I made an awesome summer bean salad that tastes lite and refreshing.

1 can Cannelloni Beans
1 can Dark Kidney Beans
1 can Black Beans
1 can Garbanzo Beans
1 can Sweet Corn
1/2 Red Onion finely chopped
1 Red Pepper finely chopped
1 Yellow Pepper finely chopped
6 Large Radishes sliced thin and halved
Cilantro leafs for garnish

For dressing:
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
4-5 tablespoons of lime juice
1-2 tablespoons garlic powder
Small bunch of finely minced Cilantro
Salt and Pepper to taste

This is crispy, light, slightly tangy, full of flavors and textures.

Makes about 10-12 servings. Keeps well in fridge
