I'll take the high five for I am leaving the hospital tomorrow after being here 6 out of the last 10 days! :banghead:

Two knee surgeries, 1 major bleed back into the joint cause I'm on Cumadin for my aortic mechanical valve.

I'm sick of this crap. I've had 9 surgeries in the past 10 years. From age 40-50.
I'm ready to get healthy, strong and reliable again. HIGH freaking FIVE!

I remember just moving to Georgia in early 92 - I remember really having a thing for the electronic movement, Eon, became Moby became Lords Of Acid, became, Green Velvet, became Doc Martin, became Danny Tenaglia, became Keoki, became Icey, I remember the 12" show which was two hours of techno at Georgia State U's radio station, Album88. I remember going from Icey to Baby Anne, some other Carl Cox, Josh Wink, man there is too man to name - Ak 12 MC Navigator, Micky Finn, Dj Dara, That's not even 5% of the sum of the interests I explored, musically.

I have to be honest - I like an island based dub, I, however, despise dub-step and some of the new-school 'coined' catagories appointed by today's troubled youth.

Eon TRULY introduced the TRUE breaks - though there could be arguments for days, especially if the two arguing were on blow, or something like that.

Eon - Ian Loveday, better-known as Eon (22 September 1954 – 17 June 2009)[1] was a rave pioneer. [2]
His tracks made their way to early 1990s pirate radio stations in London, and then out on vinyl through small labels like BAAD and Vinyl Solution. He released Void Dweller, with its dark and hard driving beats, on Columbia Records in September 1992; it used samples from David Lynch's Dune and themes from the horror movie Basket Case.
His sound was a link between the early Detroit techno and contemporary dance music. In the early 1990s this release was shared between disc jockeys and musicians and was very influential. Eon was known for the acid techno song called "Spice" which was released in November 1990.[3] Later in his career he worked with Baby Ford and Bizarre Inc., and released singles on Trelik Records and Electron Industries.[4]

Aphex Twin was always a favorite of mine from the budding days. We were talking about this in PMs, but Aphex Twin still sounds super fresh. People are still covering it and remixing it to this day. I love "Flim."

I like AT pretty well - I remember getting his album where his face is very mona lisa like at Media Play, that day I also bought 'clubbers guide to the breaks' / Ministry of Sound (great double cd set.) ... but yeah - Aphex Twin sets his alarm and wakes up and writes from his dreams, or something of the sort. Real interesting, I like the Orb a whole lot, I like Little Fluffy Clouds a shit ton. I will say Dj Icey is the most talented American DJ over the last 20 years and that DJ Krush is the most talented DJ in the WORLD over the past 20 years. That's where I'm at on all of this. There can't be uses of Dated, when you plucking proper trax from years ago. It's all about the selection of what you may call dated.

Depends what you mean by DJ.

If you mean straight dance, well, okay. I'll roll with it -- I don't know his stuff and I'm happy to defer.

My belief is that the most talented electronic musician (if we want to expand "DJ" to fit that title -- and we probably don't) is Markus Popp of Oval.

Oval's stuff is way, way out there. Like it's evolved past human ears.

You seem to like down temp a lot and minimal breakbeat - I like more jump up - The Flying Lotus is about as crazy as I'll get, psychodelic acid electo, sort of.

Also, as I'd mentioned before, you need to get into J Saul Kane, he's got some nice skills. Especially under the "Depth Charge" badge.

Do you like older Acid - such as Plastikman? or is that too old sounding?

contain is such a dope track especially on a clear bass injected stereo - it really sets you free - that's a nice transition about 4.5 in.

Yeah, you're definitely right. I tend to go for slower paced, more esoteric kinda IDM and noise music. It's just exotic to me:

This is probably the best representation of Icey, it's fairly current - he's a momentous DJ so you have to listen to the entire thing - and again, laptop speakers do it no justice at all, really.

He definitely puts out the best albums of that genre - I've never seen him live.

I went to a place where it's Halloween all throughout the year, like every day. It was Little Five Points in Atlanta - it's full of heroin addicts and hipsters. They had a place there called Satellite Records, it was in the basement of a house made fashion store called 'Wish' - the guys had two turn tables in a room about 20' x 20' - They were spinning the below - my first introduction to 'kung fu breaks'

I followed Depth Charge since that day - They're mostly imports... The label folded here, I think.

It was truly the underground Direckshun - yes - Atlanta had a huge jungle following in 98 - it was mostly jump up - yeah we had some intelligent jungle as well - such a Photek, Drum N Bass and Jump up Jungle were really a hot and popular thing here just before Y2k. Aphrodite was who I was listening to in 98 - also Friction and Spice, Roni Size.

saw the Prodigy twice, Firestarter tour.

this was also discovered on the 12" show on Album88 - much credit to the college radio stations in the world.
