Oh yeah. We're back. We're gonna expose every fraud on this team, etc. RIP Bernard Pollard.

Note: please consult Eric Fisher thread (http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showpost.php?p=9902236&postcount=303) for his crap, and the Alex Smith thread (http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showpost.php?p=9902769&postcount=1407) for his.

Here's Dontari Poe flashing some mean pass rush agility.

http://uranus.ckt.net/~gochiefs/POERUSH.gif

Tamba Hali gets off against Joe Staley.

http://uranus.ckt.net/~gochiefs/hali.gif

Now, a very lovely smorgasbord of Justin Houston fucking eating the furniture. No man can stand against him.

And finally, THE play of preseason for me so far, Mike DeVito destroying his man and then fucking wrenching the RB down from behind with one hand.

I wouldn't say I'm happy with the Chargers current pass protection but, I'm sure as fuck, elated that Rivers is a Charger.
Sure, his turnovers have been abundant since he has the same elusiveness as Poe and has had 1.8 seconds to get the ball out over the past 2 seasons, but, I'd rather have him back there than anyone with the last name of Smith.
If Telesco can find any LT better than King Dunlap Rivers will rape the AFC West.

Poe probably could dust Rivers ass in a race.

You talk like this is still 2007 and people are fucking remotely worried about Philip Rivers. I'd take him over Smith too, but Rivers right now is a lot closer the bottom third of the league for QBs than you're likely willing to admit.

- Mathews has been great in the preseason and Danny Woodhead is slated to finally replace Sproles.
- The Chargers are deepest at WR. Sure there's injury history there but the talent is great with guys like Floyd, Brown and Allen
- The TE crop is shaping out quite nicely with a healthy Gates, John Phillips and Ladarius Green (100+ yds and 2 TDs in 2 preseason games).

ya. so busted.

In that first one I'm more impressed with Derrick Johnson. He sealed off the hole by stuffing the RT. Jackson's play didn't really matter too much as its not like the RB had anywhere to cut back. No I'm not saying he sucks, and in fact I was one of the people pretty impressed when Dorsey and Jackson were both doing a good job of stuffing the run that one year. Of course Houston is a stud and Berry would have been there to blow it up as well, but I think Derrick Johnson was the key there. Certainly not a bad play by Jackson though.

Nice job of holding the double team (although I'm skeptical it would have mattered if the back had gone to the edge). Really it didn't matter as Houston and Flowers read and blew that play right the **** up. All I can do is laugh at the 49ers not having that TE or T chip Houston and instead try to rely on the FB to block him. This play is why I can understand people getting optimistic, or at least just wanting to watch this defense. They send that guy after Derrick Johnson instead of Houston, and him and Flowers stuff that. I don't even know where Berry is but, between him, DJ, and Houston, we've got 3 guys that can blow up any play even if they're manned up on T.

I don't know, he got zero pressure on the QB (and the tackle getting pushed back was part of the play design) and was slow getting off the block to address the RB. Houston once again impressive, and Flowers would have prevented a big gainer, but Jackson didn't really have any impact on that play and likely would not have as the RB would have already gotten his yards before Jackson could catch up. Not impressed.

Fact is, for what he's still getting paid its not impressive.

Gadzooks, have fun battling the fade for top cellar dweller status, you guys are old and largely devoid of outstanding talent... when Royal is your two, well, ROFL.

Ever hear of Seyi Ajirotutu? Probably not...He had a "breakout" game during week 9 on November 7, 2010 when he caught 4 catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns in the Chargers win over the Houston Texans. He was waived shortly after, picked up by the Panthers and then promptly cut. In that season Rivers threw to 17 different receivers for 4,710 yds.

The point is, it doesn't matter who Rivers throws to, as long as anyone can block for him, the WRs will be successful. The same can't be said for Alex Smith. Hence, the trade for whathisnose.

BTW - Other than Freeny and Gates, the team's not old.

Gadzooks

BTW- I don't want to shit on Smith. I feel sorry for him.

No.1 Pick overall
Suffered through a horrible coaching carousel
Finally finds success with a talent laden team and solid coaching continuity.
Traded to a team with the same mentality the 49ers had when they drafted him.

The thread Clay had asking if he reminded anyone of Cassel was classic. While walking off the field, he showed all of the defeatist mannerisms Cassel did last year. The poor sap can't catch a break.

BTW- I don't want to shit on Smith. I feel sorry for him.

No.1 Pick overall
Suffered through a horrible coaching carousel

These kinds of posts will win you a lot of Brownie points around here.

Please keep it up.

More Smith bashing, less Chargers fluffing.

DeVito did an awesome job of pushing the double team back and collapsing the pocket here.

DeVito is an absolute bull.

People are still bitching about Jackson, but the biggest farce this team has seen the past five years was Glenn Dorsey. DeVito has shown me more in two meaningless games than Dorsey did in his entire Chiefs career.

DeVito might end up being the pickup of the offseason for us. The guy is a mean sonofabitch. Oh, and Poe is going to start to look like Wilfork this year.

When people were shitting on the DeVito pick up, I was trying to tell them about him. All Clay wanted to talk about was his sacks......

DeVito was a steal for the Chiefs.

Poe is going make a name for himself this season.

Yeah, watching that Gif you can see he has great balance for a guy that big. His strength is obvious as is his power but he has balance and agility that surpasses men of that size. He definitely moves like a 1st round pick.

He's no D.J Fluker as a run blocking right tackle, but the Chiefs paid a tremendous price for him so he's gotta play somewhere.:)

Just destroyed @Jacobs71 on Twitter. Little bitch couldn't take it and blocked me.

He was trying to act as though he knows what he's talking about and starts highlighting "flaws" in Eric Fishers blocking technique in stills from preseason games and camp. Now I'm one of Fishers bigger critics, but even I know we can't trust what we see right now, and that he's injured. We can't disregard him, but we can't ignore it either. It is.

So Nicole Jacobs is highlighting these flaws, especially Fishers head being down, to which I reply:

@Jacobs71 You don't think he's using his head for leverage beings he essentially has a pretty debilitating injury?

He replies: Nope, that's not how you block.

@Jacobs71 How exactly do you block when you have Gamekeepers thumb, a shoulder injury and another unspecified hand injury?

Then he carries on and spouts off some bullshit about how it should be easily corrected and once he's broken of these habits, he'll be fine.

@Jacobs71 you mean once he's healed right? I'm one of his biggest critics, but he's been injured for weeks.

@Jacobs71 You do everything differently when you've got an injury.

He replies: I'm not going to argue about this.

@Jacobs71 b/c your losing credibility?

He replies: The pictures from camp were taken before his injury.

@Jacobs71 When are they from? (knowing his injuries were very early)

No Reply. (At this point I believe he blocks me)

@Jacobs71 That's what I thought.

@Jacobs71 "In his first training camp practice,"John Clayton writes, "Fisher badly injured two fingers on his right hand."

@Jacobs71 "He stayed in practice and tried to go against defenders mostly left-handed."

@Jacobs71 Notice how he isn't really using the right hand in your pictures...

Yeah. You might want to take everything that d-bag posts with a grain of salt.

Again. I'm a big critic of Fishers. Mostly b/c he has to produce, and excuses only go so far. Can't ignore them, but can't really ignore poor play either. Once he's healthy, he can prove us all wrong. Until then...

Nope. That's my boy Tony Moeaki. Usually a stud blocker, not so much there. Looked more like Fasano there.

First gif he gets stood up like a fat chick at prom.

Second gif I actually like how he adjusts and finds leverage on the block.

Wait, what?

Where did he find leverage on the block? The defender disengaged from him and made the tackle on the RB. Fisher didn't block shit. If he did anything on that play it was holding on for dear life and getting dragged about 3 yards.

This. He basically fell with the defender into the RB.
