You can clearly see the safety dropping back even before snap... Plus Claiborne was running with him all the way until the dump off. I don't know what else you need to see.

The guy that got steam rolled still had his hands on the receiver when the ball was thrown. He dropped his coverage to make the tackle and got up wishing he’d left it up to the linebacker.

Why do you believe he was wide open?

You can see the safety on that side of the field dropping back into coverage from the start. He went off the screen, but he was clearly reading the QB.

That kind of play's an easy '2nd progression' play. Smith would've seen the FS dropping into coverage and not biting on the playfake immediately, so he goes to his 2nd option to pick up the 1st down.

I don't know what there is to complain about there. The safety didn't bite on the play fake, it was a 2nd down so he went to his #2 option to set up a makeable 3rd or to get the first.

Smart QB play. He could've been a little more aggressive there and tried to rifle one in, but Claiborne was actually still alongside the WR when Alex moved off him, so he'd have had to float one into a zone where the FS would've been watching the play develop the whole way. So either it's picked, tipped or if it is caught, Smith gets his WR killed.

Yeah, there are QBs that would have tried that throw and it probably wouldn't have worked terribly well. That said, it would've been a different story if this were on the far hash. At that point he could've made it more of an outside shoulder throw and let his WR drift out towards it and away from the FS. But being on the short side of the field and with Claiborne being stride for stride in the first 3 steps (and the FS having not bit on the play-action), Smith made the smart play to dump off to Charles.
